I don't have the book but I just wanna ask if the framework in this book is very much manufacturing based or are these examples on how this can be applied to say a service industry???

All systems whether is ERP, CRM, Supply Chain for all industries are mostly derived from manufacturing resource planning systems, frameworks and ideas. So if you have the time to go through a manufacturing book and grab the essence of it, then yes the knowledge can be applied to a service industry or whatever industry you require.
