the choice is simple, decide on your usage, application and im sure u wont use 1.5T as one drive right?.. split into a few drives and mixture of fat32 and ntfs lor.... for me, 70% on Ntfs and 30% on fat...and the C drive is ntfs for sure... [:p]

Hmmmm .... so partition it lah ...

But heard that for Mac ... they can only read FAT32 right?

So for those that need to share data with Mac .... will have to use FAT32 liao.

Can read NTFS but cannot write.

So can read NTFS is still not so bad.

Got it for $230 Cash.

Wanted to get the 1TB one ... but it's about $180. So paid $50 more to get another 500GB. [nod][nod]

Generally I would use NFTS more security features

You may want to partition your harddisk, format some in FAT32 and some NTFS... in such, you can have flexibility for other OS.

I already googled and found a few website that has this information.

But I just want a "practical" side of the difference in daily usage. [nod][nod]

yalah... i can give u some suggestion on the naming and size allocation of the drive. you can adjust according to your own preference...

c: (100G-NTSF) Main

d: (200G-NTSF) healthy

e: (500G-NTSF) naked

f: (500G-NTSF) porn

g: (300G-Fat) others

Good choice. Happy formatting [laugh][laugh][laugh]

If you activate full format for 1.5T, can leave the formatting process running over the night, and next morning, may be it is not done yet. hahah.....

I use NTFS because have video files to edit that's more than 4GB.

Practical if you have large ISO files as well.

anyhow, wrt other thread, better to first time full format if your hdd is for backup .

i didn't bother to do it for a HDD used for playing movies.

suggest you partition as well.

I convert music to MP3 or AAC, Video to MP4 format & Photo. So far so good.

If you're mac user, use "Handbrake" to convert a movie.

A 7.3 GB movie will use only 1.5 to 2.5 GB space with 5.1 surround sound & higher video quality than normal DVD.

Bro, it's better to know if your 1.5TB usage like :

1. Window (NTFS) or Mac (FAT32)

2. For data or video, photo or ....

For me, i had a 1TB & 500GB network storage HDD.

I format them to FAT32 for both Mac & Window usage (Mac can only read on NTFS)

My main usage for this 1TB HDD is strictly VIDEO, Photo & Music and 500GB for data backup only.

Hope it helps
