For diesel engine, more focus is on the torque. Just look at the torque for Sonata CRDi, 305nm/2000rpm. I had driven the Golf TDI in Germany a few times, if I remember correctly, the power and torque is 140hp/320Nm. It is so easy when driving on Autobann [thumbsup]. The pulling power from the engine is strong..

The E Class Mercs is even more scary.

The E 220 CDI comes fitted with a 2148cc common rail diesel injection engine mated to a 5 speed automatic gearbox with touch shift. Despite being a relatively small diesel for the luxurious E Class sedan, it still manages to churn out a healthy 168 bhp@ 3700 rpm and a robust torque of 410 Nm@ 2000 rpm. The engine is a free revving unit that surges the vehicle forward with amazing ease.

efficiency

the question is why they run petrol ones, and some even CNG...total joke

No diesel tax lah!

That is why they want to run on CNG. Got two sides complaining. Diesel turbo taxi uncle tell me diesel tax is killing. CNG taxi uncle tell me the bo-power of CNG is killing. [laugh]

One end kenna taxed lose money. One end lose power. The only taxi uncle I encountered didn't complain much is the MB NGT taxi uncle.
