Kelpie 2nd Gear December 15, 2008 Share December 15, 2008 I suppose the end result will surely be better than using hands. The problem is where to find it? I have came across only a few in e-bay previously but prefer to get it locally. At least spolit or got problem can revert immediately. Vroomtattat 2nd Gear December 15, 2008 Share December 15, 2008 Those powered by ciggy lighter point are not strong enough for proper polishing jobs

Rliewky 1st Gear December 15, 2008 Share December 15, 2008 actually autobacs have a bettery operated buffer but understanding is only suitable for applying wax and can only last for a short duration. i think is about an hour, if i recall correctly. will not be enough to do paint correction. for that you will need to use proper buffering machine
Lmf78 Neutral Newbie December 15, 2008 Author Share December 15, 2008 Yeh saw a few at autobacs, just that this pad n that pad blurs me... intend to find a shop to do the polishing, any to intro?
Venco25 Neutral Newbie December 15, 2008 Share December 15, 2008 You happen to know if the pads/backing plate of the battery-operated buffer machine can be changed? I haven't got a chance to view it yet. I do have the PC but it's sort of cumbersome to setup just for maintenance work
Davc Neutral Newbie December 15, 2008 Share December 15, 2008 (edited) http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/In-Car-DC-12V-to-AC...A1%7C240%3A1318 http://www.nextag.com/12v-dc-to-220v-ac-inverter/search-html http://www.dcacpowerinverters.com/220_volt..._inverters.html https://www.samstores.com/Store.asp?CtgID=613 Without a proper machine (DA or Rotary), your choice of pads are limited, you also only have limited power. Check out the links above, you guys think this will work? Only problem is when we polish the bonnet engine need to be off, what if the battery drained out? Venco25 Neutral Newbie December 16, 2008 Share December 16, 2008 I wasn't referring to those plugged in to the 12V ciggy plug. Rather, those powered by a battery pack. I understand that such machines are not used for paint correction or any serious work. Just toying with the idea of using such machines for general buffing/application
Rliewky 1st Gear December 16, 2008 Share December 16, 2008 not too sure. my guess you cannot change the backing plate. if i recall correctly you can change the cover of the pad.

Chickensoup 1st Gear December 16, 2008 Share December 16, 2008 Everytime you polish with machine, it takes off a layer of the paintwork. So cannot do too many times.
Highway Neutral Newbie December 17, 2008 Share December 17, 2008 hi all my ride is full of stubborn water marks and spots on root, bonnet and rear bonnet. i had tried a few brands of car shampoo and also tried using mild vinegar to clean but it is still there. i tried a car groom services but no good as the water spots are there, it only managed to make the car shinny but not removing the spots. has anyone tried a mobile groom or polisher services that is able to reduce water spots or best is removed all water spots ? any recommendation ? Many thanks ↡ Advertisement
