Are ex-SAF regular officers sought after in the private sector? If someone writes that in his resume, will they look more attractive to potential employers?

Any one worked with ex-officers before? Do they rate highly in terms of work ethics, maturity and analytical skills?

The general perception from my previous employment in a recruitment commpany is that ex-SAF guys are neither here nor there. They went into the SAF for job safety and high pay, learnt nothing productive for private sector, now want out because they cannot make it. Especially commissioned officers who keeping emphasising their "people management skills" citing how many people they where in charge of. Some of my own personal friends, eg. university mates, left with around MAJ/LTC ranks and end up in high-commission-low-basic kind of careeers. One relative left with full COL and was nicely transited into a stat board/GLC type company with a slight cut in pay but still head of a dept despite having zero experience in that industry.

I consider an ex-SGT who quit the most successful as he went into computer game and animation programming early. First he worked alone and attended classes. Now he has a team doing the work and a few blue chip clients.
