please, 325i cabriolet 0-100 in 8.1secs is dead slow...that time i was in a E220CDI taxi, when the driver floored the accelerator, it was really torquey, 400NM, but not that thrown back to the seat...plus, 0-100 8.6secs, seems as if it was 10secs, only brought a grin to my face, not a smile...

if you want to feel the acceleration of your car, it's the torque that matters as the more the amount of Nm, the more you'll feel the acceleration. it's the horsepower that makes the car go faster.

example- a car with 100bhp, but with 400nm, the passengers will feel like they are taking off in a jet...but in fact, they are going at normal acceleration speeds...but a car with 400bhp with 100nm will go fast without the feeling of going fast...which is a bit boring...

the best is 400bhp with 400nm, feel the gravity plus go fast...

Nobody ever claimed the 325 cabrio was very fast. It is sufficient for Singapore roads. And the feeling of open top is priceless. Who cares about fast then? Anyway there is more to a car than 0-100km/h, as being a Ferrari California fan you surely know. You want fast century times? Buy a cheap Vios and turbocharge it and boost it way up. You will go fast in a straight line but that will be all there is to it.

The second part of your post: you want to feel the acceleration? Ride a bike. And thanks for your Torque 101 lesson... we are very enlightened by your analysis of torque vs horsepower.

well, is that sarcasm??? yes...open top experience is truly priceless...seriously...just cruise along and enjoy the wind in your hair!!!

Yup! Driving topless is great. Besides you don't want to go too fast, because you might want to preen and be seen by the pretty chicks who are impressed by this sort of thing.

actually, i feel the proportions of the rear of a 325 cabrio or even 335 looks weird, referring to the boot up till the rear windscreen. the coupe version actually look much sleeker and fiercer.

usually when people drive a convertible, we don't like to zoom past or become really power hungry. it's more of a lifestyle car, the feeling of the wind in the hair and the luxury of choice between a coupe and convertible. cannot expect more performance from the 325 cabrio lah seriously. if im not wrong, i saw a 323 convertible on sale on SGcarmart earlier.. should be from PI?

for me, i'd get the 325 / a5 or maybe 335 / S5.. all coupe.

that's the disadvantage of having a hardtop, has to compromise on the looks. Somthing which Audi refuses to do for A5..Why would they....when they have created such a gorgeous car. Some ppl just need both power n lifestlyle i guess. otherwise why the ferrari california. 323 convert definitely from PI. PML doesn't bring it in

Hmm..i thought should be around in the $170k range? Wah, now recession everyone still wanna upgrade to 335i. So power ah

recession doesn't mean everyone is in a bad shape. some might be doing really well during a recession, while others can do very badly even during boom time. i guess it all depends on that person's timing in life.

anyone knows consumption figures b/w 335 and S5? i reckon S5 is still worse considering its a v8...

I am getting 12.5L/100km for my 335. 1 full tank about 400km (50% city & 50% highway)

My brother is getting 14.6L/100km for his S5. 1 full tank about 350km (50% city & 50% highway)
