COE car is fine by me... But why someone would do shit like make the own car a rental-car/driver for hire, when the plate itself costs more than the car, is just absolutely puzzling to me.

Well, putting that plate on that car indicates something. So, if by sticking a blue sticker can generate some income, it can save the plate too.

Mind sharing what’s so disgraceful about having the PHV label in a car?

There's nothing wrong with the blue label; nothing wrong with a COE car; nothing wrong with a KIA car, and there's nothing wrong with a special plate that's bidded.

But there's everything wrong with the combination of all these things above that very likely indicates that the owner probably overleveraged his finances in order to own that plate.

Other examples of "disgraceful" behavior that I seen before including:

1. Slapping on Chinese tyres onto a BMW 5er or a BMW Z4 (yes Tourador sticker is there).

2. A red-plate Toyota Alphard.

3. A red-plate BMW Z4.

4. Putting ron92 gas into a Jaguar.

You have a lot of prejudices but you’re perfectly entitled to that.

the car could very be a mule car from a trader to hold the plate until a suitable buyer comes along.. who knows?

whats wrong with pumping Ron 92 in a luxury car? A person who stays GCB and spends $3 to eat affordable and cheap hawker food.. disgraceful?

I won’t be so presumptuous to label the decisions of others as disgraceful just because I don’t agree or understand the rationale.

What I do know is we have all sorts of people in MCF.

seasons greetings folks.

As far as I know, there's no Jaguar out there with an engine specced to accept ron92 gas. Doing so damages the engine and all for what? To save a buck? When the car is already a Jaguar?

Your analogy on the staying in GCB and eating street food - is not a good one because eating and place of residence has no relation to each other. Like I said it's not the individual thing or a pair of things that is disgraceful - but a whole combination of things all happening together at the same time.

The possible scenario of a mule car - yeah that could be one case that I overlooked. But usually one look inside the interior of the car and we would know whether it's a dealer car or not (e.g., if it has child seats mounted inside).

Unfortunately we don't have that info so that's as far as we can go.

Yes I have my prejudices, but the fact remains there's a lot of people out there who've overleveraged their finances just to own a car - and end up scrimping on the other important aspects of car maintenance...

This is where I am coming from.

I’m not going into pedantic mode but I accept where you’re coming from

no right no wrong when it comes into views.

just that personally, I won’t be so quick to judge.
