IF convenient try to use those traditional charcoal, abt half a kg.

break them in size of 2-3sq.inch/pc, then get a new red cloth wrap them up,

place it under driver seat.hv xtra also can place under passenger seat.

Its called pandan leaves...

 

The smell is good when you put a bunch in your car, esp when the sun heats...

but when the leaves became 'crispy'... that's where the troublesome part.

If u want to get rid of a fishy smell, just ask a lady, they are experts.

Bought some fishes last Sat morning including a few pc of Salmon.

While cooking found the Salmon lost and tried searching the car for the fish after notising some fishy smell. Could'nt find until Monday morning when the fishy stench overcome the whole car. The pack of salmon had been reduced to almost white liquid form,

. Luckily the bag still intact without the liquid doozing out.

 

Any low cost, fast & excellent method to get rid of the Fishy smell ?

 

I did try to wind down all windows, open air vent and full blast on the go. Also used Dettol spray and normal charcoal.

 

Any other good methods ?

There are some foul smell absorber sold for Fridge use. Maybe it will work for car.

i also kenna before... i used the traditional charcoal like another bro suggested... after scrubbing clean clean the mat, i brought about few big pieces of charcoal and used a shoe box to hold them without the lid. be warned though, the smell only went away after a week. used only those big pieces.

 

the box of charcoal is still in my car after a year! come to think of it, perhaps time to change another set of charcoal.

Hihi. U just need to go to those car detailing/polish shop and ask for steam cleaning service for ur stained carpet. should not cost more than $15, for me anyway. Will be able to get rid abt 90% of the smell..

Pretty sure pandan leaves will work. One of the rooms at my workplace had a foul smell until we placed pandan leaves. However, don't over do it or your car would be full of pandan leaves smell. Gd luck

charcoal shall works.. i had charcoal mats, and packs of charcoal.. not those frangance type.. just plain charcoal nia.. eat burgers.. and durians wont pose a problem to me.. further, i park under the sun.. it will remove the odour effortless... no refill required..dont even need car perfume... had been doing this months liao.. lol

charcoal jelly in the previous few posts are good enough to reduce alot of smell.

Just placed the jelly on the dashboard and let it baked under the sun for just one hour.

alot of odours are removed....
