What an explosive Sunday EPL matches .......... [smash][smash][smash]

Arsenal defeat Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge while Cristiano Ronaldo was dismissed for 2 yellow cards..... [:p][:p][:p]

ESPN Soccernet reports :

Chelsea 1 - 2 Arsenal

Robin van Persie put Arsenal back into the Premier League title race with a superb second-half double in a 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Van Persie struck twice in three minutes after the Blues had taken a first-half lead through a fortuitous Johan Djourou own goal.

But while the Dutch striker's second goal was sheer class, his equaliser was clearly scored from an offside position.

CHELSEA 1-2 ARSENAL REACTION

Scolari demands an apology for 'offisde' goal

Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari called for referee Mike Dean and his assistant to make an apology for allowing Robin van Persie's offside goal which turned today's Barclays Premier League clash against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge

Van Persie was clearly in an offside position as he collected a pass from Denilson on the edge of the penalty area, before smashing the ball past Petr Cech.

There was, though, nothing controversial about what proved to be the winning goal, when the Dutchman spun in the box to drill a low shot into the far corner.

However, the fact his team were "killed'' by such a crucial decision did not sit well with the Brazilian coach.

He said: "Have you ever heard me speak about referees any time in the games I have been here? Never, in 15 in the Premier League, four in the Champions League, the Carling Cup, I have not said anything, but today is different.

Man City 0 - 1 Man Utd

Wayne Rooney's 100th club goal was enough for Manchester United to confirm local supremacy with a 1-0 win over City at Eastlands - but Cristiano Ronaldo did not help much with a needless red card.

Ronaldo's temper has been threatening to boil over for some time now but his decision to push his hands towards Rooney's corner midway through the second half seemed bizarre.

Already booked, referee Howard Webb duly produced a second yellow card, condemning United to a nervy finish in which Patrice Evra cleared off the line from Richard Dunne although Joe Hart also denied Rooney seconds later.

Sir Alex Ferguson defended Cristiano Ronaldo over the red card incident that has soured the week in which he is expected to be crowned European Footballer of the Year.

The Portugal winger had already been cautioned when he leapt for Wayne Rooney's corner midway through the second-half, then stuck his hands in the air to parry the ball instead.

It seemed a needless move and referee Howard Webb duly dismissed the 23-year-old.

Its seem like Scolari unable to take it for 2 defeats at Stamford Bridge. (first lost to Liverpool). He sure breaks JM 4 yrs record for home defeats ...... [sly][sly][sly]

Its now for Liverpool to grab the lead with tomorrow early morning (4.00am) match against West Ham United at Anfield ......... [bounce2][bounce2][bounce2]

Neutral Newbie

Xmas is coming so guess RB is nervous...cos that's where Man U always catch up...so RB is now very cautious in his tactics and it doesn't help if too many players got injured...I guess now his tactic is go for a small win and then hold the game (like GH like that) but hor my feel is that everytime Liverpool try to hold a game..they will mess up in the end.... [sweatdrop][sweatdrop] ...
