Kianbeng Clutched December 5, 2008 Share December 5, 2008 After studying and working with MY, I can assure you that some of the MY can be as kiasu or even more kiasu than us. Only thing is they never admit it, and when they see competition, they call the other party kiasu, while they condone themselve for doing the same. it's all on our Asian culture, only Sporean readily admits it. Thats what I always tell ppl! We are conscious about it! Have you guys ever been to Msia Carrefour and see what happens when the bakery items are marked down? Immediately you see ppl rushing, pushing, shoving, climbing over another - just to reach for the discounted bread! Do you see that here in our carrefour? I think thats called real Kiasu. But having relatives who are msians, I have to say their survival instincts are stronger. The act I saw in Msia Carrefour could be arising from their "survival instincts". So there's no wrong about it when you look at this issue rationally. It's just a natural act when you are in such an environment. ↡ Advertisement
