VW has this so call Ltd Ed Golf GTI , Red colour only, fabric seats, 17 inch rims and No HID going for about $85K with COE tag at $4K. OMV is estimated to be about $25K.

This works out to be $7K odd a year. Cheaper than all the used GTIs on Sg CarMart.

The question is : How is this car and is there any drawback on this model?

Turbocharged

i think its a good buy if u dont need things like sunroof, bi-xexon headlight and electicially adjustable seats. all else are the same. [:)]

but if you can wait, i think prices will drop further in the next 3 months. VW in German is planning to halt production for 3 weeks due to over production. hope the auto industry in Europe is not as bad as the US big 3!!

Didn't ask about GT sports but Jetta 1.4 with170bhp is $81K with boot space.

Forumer Vega says can wait a few months for price down. Highly possible as EURO exchange rate is dropping.

Yes it sounds like a good deal when you recall those days when VW launch was $120K.

If you now just compare it with Omv of any cars around $25K to $27K, like market leader Toyota Camry 2.0L which is priced at $80K thereabout, then this limited ed GTI is so-so priced.

200bhp quite little

Bro,

Whatever, it is still a VW lah. Some of my kakis "gei gei" want Conti and VW. Branding is important to some. Anyway, after buying and pocket deep deep can easily mod to a higher hp. As long as got money, no problem one, various workshop can "zng" for you. Hee ! just like the cxxxc Type R, more ex then WRX but still in Singapore got alot of rich people buying the Red badge even though Rex is cheaper and has better hp. Sometimes it is not about hp, it is about moolah.

The problem with PI is the Aftersales support. Their workshops can only do oil change and some simple brakes or suspension changes but when it comes to diagnostic, they are lost.
