Kelpie 2nd Gear November 25, 2008 Share November 25, 2008 Since the new CIQ at JB only allows us to use Touch and Go Card for payment, where do you guys plan to top up? Quite amazed they insist on T&G card. maybe they smart to earn interest income liao When will the new CIQ be open ah? heard its next month? If not on road trip, I will take the NSH (from the Melaka/KL exit on the way to TC) and hit the nearest toll, burn some carbon, top up in the toll office and then U-turn back. Tanjkp Clutched November 25, 2008 Share November 25, 2008 (edited) some time in mid of yr the plus counter at causeway were campaigning to sell the card by saying next time/month compulsory must use T & G card, new CIQ only use card blah blah... I bo chap till today still "Nah cash $$". The toll are run by pte co (Plus), unless MY govt announce publicly or else Plus can't compel Sinkapor drivers to use T & G card. Look at the toll stns along NSH after operate donkey yrs still have cash counters. The so call next time must use T & G card was more like last time our cash card asked all quickly buy using all sort of tactics just to "clear" their excess almost "dead" stock as new techn is coming in. ( now ERP can use credit card to pay w/o card in the I U) So you think new CIQ will change anything ? The counter staff will be more happy to be able collect cash $$$$$. Blackyv Turbocharged November 26, 2008 Share November 26, 2008 the "counter staff" means the custom/immigration officer??? if yes, then it make sense since by the time u reach that level/stage, u cant be turning back to do the top up right?? will cause jam u know..... anyway, to me, the toll booth is the best place to top up.... just dont go the "TnG only" lane and go the "TnG and cash" lane..(normally, for large toll entry/exit, sure have at least 2 TnG lane and one is purely TnG only lane without minah and one with a minah inside the toll booth).... . just hand over the card and $$$ to the minah, she know what to do..... dont even need to open mouth..
