Hopefully the era of cheap man fast car is coming! I wonder what sort of pricings you will get in Singapore.

Usually, the cheaper Korean cars don't give you as high the performance specificatons whhen compare with the Jap and Conti sports/performance cars in the past. If the price per bhp/torque is really impressive, it will surely attract buyers from the Jap/conti segment.

GDI stands for Gasoline Direct Injection, not necessary means its from Mitsubishi, however, for Jap make, Mitsubishi is the 1st one to adopt it. Now a few makers are adopting this type of technology. It's something like SOHC to DOHC wink.gifwink.gifwink.gif

Direct Injection were mostly used in Diesel engine

It said:

"Hyundai has developed a new turbocharged gasoline direct injection version of its Theta family engine. The Theta family is essentially a derivative of the GEMA World Engine project, a joint venture between Hyundai-Kia, Chrysler and Mitsubishi. It comes in 1.8, 2.0 and 2.4 liter sizes

Hyundai claims their Theta Turbo GDI engine has a capacity for up to 286 horsepower so far. Other than gasoline direct injection, it also features continuous variable valve timing. Various states of tune will probably be available - perhaps 200hp, 240hp and 286hp versions depending on the car its installed in."

So if it is up to 286 bhp, it is not wrong to derive that 2.4L Turbocharged should be the one offers the highest bhp.
