I was reviewing my past purchase invoice/payments for my Dec 2006 Picnic and seem to me there was an overcharging in the final invoice most probably by double entries of the booking fees by BM; i.e S$6,300.

Example :

Car Price : S$ 82,000

Loan Amount: S$ 30,000

Downpayment: S$ 52,000

Less Book : S$ 6,300 (paid on booking day)

Balance : S$ 45,700

Trade-in : S$ 40,600 (toyota 1.5)

Outstand : S$ 12,000

loan

Final

Balance : S$ 17,100

Final

Payment : S$ 23,400 (paid as per official receipt)

Difference : S$ 23,400 - S$ 17,100 = S$ 6,300 (extra payment ???)

Is my calculation of the extra S$6,300 payment to BM correct ?

Or did I missed out something ?

Dun think so got error, Cos total payment paid by you is $23400 ( invoice/official receipt ) + $40600 ( trade-in ) = $ 64000.

Minus it away from the outstanding loan will be $64K - $12K = $52K.

you took into a/c the final pyt and trade in price. But you forgot, TS had put a initial deposit/ booking fee of $6300.

To TS, if your car is bought from borneo, i think can go talk to them. If you buy from PI, then forget about it.

Next time, just do your sums and check receipt correctly.

if you had bank statement to prove 29700 altogether had been taken by BM...

go back bang table...

but do note sometimes human beings tend to be forgetful..

i must admit i am one of them... [laugh]

Err, final payment is what u type here. Unless it states elsewhere on ur invoice or agreement, thus only thing valid is the official receipt. Like what one of the bros said, provided u can prove ( thru bank records/cheque issued ) that u over pay the $6300 more, else difficult to prove.

Sorry, but thats my understanding, as official receipt show the total sum paid(in this case???)

I might be wrong tho, then good have a windfall of $6.3K out of the blue.

So at the end of the day, the total you paid to BM for downpayment(Deposit + Final Balance) is $23,400 or $29,700 ? Do you have that record?

I got a payment receipt from BM for S$6300 (booking fee)

Another final receipt from BM for S$23,400.

Should be able to check back my bank statements for both.

Just want to be very sure there is no other S$6,300 excess charges anywhere before I approach BM.

Thanks!

Nothing wrong.. statement is correct.

1. amount recover from trade in (40600 - 12000) = 28600.

2. Your intended down payment is 52000. therefore final payment is 52000 - 28600 = 23400.

3. 23400 is inclusive of your booking fees 6300.

Just an update.

Approach BM and they glady rechecked my past records.

And Yes, is my mistake.

The initial S$6,300 booking fee is paid by the car agent whom bought over my used car.

I had always thought it was paid by me then.

Hence the account by BM is correct.

Turbocharged

Hmmm, good that BM actually entertain you and checked their records. They always give me the impression that they "cant be bothered".
