Directional tyres used other way

What is the effect of directional tyres if mounted opposite way? Say for general running about town/city. Will the tyres wear faster or be damaged? Any comments?

Thanks for the comment. I suppose if the rain is very heavy, the road is mildly flooded with say 3mm to 4mm of water, the grooves or water channels that clears the water may lose some of its effect since the tyre is mounted on opposite direction. Water is still cleared somehow i guess.

But if just wet road surface, the rubber contact on the road is same right?

Happened to my bike tyre once, went back to screw the technician upside down and never go back again.

Your tyre will be damaged in the long run and lossing grip in the wet condition.
