Karung guni don't want newspaper

A traditional way to get rid of the newspapers in the house is to sell them to Karung guni on a regular basis. My mum was happy with this arrangement as she got to keep the proceeds (although meagre) while our small house could be cleared of unwanted junks at the same time.

Time has changed (at least for the time being)...

This morning, I was at the car-park and saw a Nissan Cabstar unloading a few karung gunis. I approached one of them, telling them I have some newspapers to clear. They were unwilling to collect due to the recent declination in profit and shortage of storage space.

Now, my house is full of newspapers and... my mum needs some pocket money, help!

yeah la...nowadays dis karang guni only wants electronic stuffs.tv, hi fi, fridge, ps2 etc....

my place here every sunday there's a makeshift spot where they collect all recyclables; newspapers, books, clothes, bottles...anything u wanna throw.so instead of giving to karang guni, we gave it to these ppl.get some money also altho not a lot.i tink same as wat karang guni would give.at least they accept anything.

old papers are not worth anything now.. even they do collect.. they only give u a couple of ten cents coins only... [:|]

ya they collect only electronics stuff to import to third country. just a side...kena cheat by karung guni b4..that time asked a karung guni whether he take washing machine, he answer no, so no choice just to throw at one corner at rubbish area..guess wat..on my way out to fetch my kids saw my old washing machine on a lorry coming out of car park..Nabe...i should have smashed the things to pieces so that it no longer valuable to them..for those of u if ur thing the karung guni say he don want...smash the thing into pieces especially the controller button and other electronic circuit board
