Sturtles 6th Gear November 21, 2008 Share November 21, 2008 What would you like to know? Its a 2.4L engine, with about 175+bhp, 230 nm of torque. CVT, or multitronic in audi speak.
Mojoe Neutral Newbie November 21, 2008 Share November 21, 2008 What's the OMV and depreciation for this? Seems kind of high, given the current environment... I heard some 2nd hand dealers are even selling at a loss to cut losses. This is your friend's car, but not sure how hard you want to bargain. I know the OMV of Audi is generally very high when it was imported by PA, but the bells and whistles for the OMV is virtually non-existent. I was looking at ab A4 Avant previously... the OMV is 46k, but it has no memory seats, no anti-glare mirror, no tilting side mirror when reversing, no paddleshift even though there is a sports mode... In the end, I couldn't accept such a bare car even though the OMV is high. Not sure about the Cab though.. maybe more toys?
Azarael Clutched November 21, 2008 Share November 21, 2008 2nd hand car market now in a big slump. i would bargin for below 100K, it is do-able. remember there is no market for a 3rd hand audi cab.
Throttle2 Supersonic November 21, 2008 Share November 21, 2008 definitely under $100k OMV of this car should be no more than $55k, i think. plus it's an old model. I'm thinking of a CLK200 myself.
Observer 4th Gear November 21, 2008 Author Share November 21, 2008 yea.. i may throw in a beemer to pay lesser though..downside is 2.4 =(
Observer 4th Gear November 21, 2008 Author Share November 21, 2008 Meaning if I get it, most likely stick to it for its last few years?
Akula Turbocharged November 21, 2008 Share November 21, 2008 Assuming OMV btn $50K - $55K, then scrap value at 10 years will be abt $33K-$35K +/- Car will have about about 5.5 to 6 years to drive, depreciation of about $11K to $12K. Think can go down a bit.
Observer 4th Gear November 21, 2008 Author Share November 21, 2008 OMV is around 65k +/- if i remember it correctly.. shucks..the bad feeling of getting a used car not knowing if theres are problems around..
Throttle2 Supersonic November 21, 2008 Share November 21, 2008 that high? hhhmmm. but even so do consider , that it is old model and also Azreal's comments. there are buyers for 3rd hand cabby but usually not the power type buyer.

Chrispie 5th Gear November 21, 2008 Share November 21, 2008 even if you get at 100k, with 6 more years to go, and say omv is 60k, the depreciation is still damn high at more than 10k/year. Not worth it i think.. plus dun forget the higher insurance premium, FC, road tax and the bloody transfer FEe!!
Throttle2 Supersonic November 21, 2008 Share November 21, 2008 of course. why would you want to keep 2 cars? especially since the Cabby is a 4 seater already.
