Eyke Supercharged November 13, 2008 Share November 13, 2008 My left front brake rotor is much more worn than the right. There's no other symtomps like pulling to one side. Dealer checked and say no caliper binding, and can't say where's the problem. Any idea where the fault could be? ↡ Advertisement

Gearoil 1st Gear November 13, 2008 Share November 13, 2008 Hang your car up like the cat in your avatar..and turn the wheel...do they turn with litte resistance? If , like you said, if caliper is not stuck ( as in the piston getting stuck between the seal).... then pads could be stucked to caliper/piston or rust, dirt at caliper/pad/rotor contaact area could be the cause...or the pin could be the problem. Btw, how much diff are the worn rotor from each other?...if it is a mere couple of mm , then it is considered normal lah!
Fireball0088 5th Gear November 13, 2008 Share November 13, 2008 side track. How do you tell that the left side rotor is worn out than the right?
Gearoil 1st Gear November 13, 2008 Share November 13, 2008 He must have removed the wheel, have the rotor exposed and then really use a vernier caliper to measure da thickness!! Who knows, he might be so obsessed with the minor difference in thickness and really removed the rotor from its mounting and placed it on a granite surface table and truly measured it up to a mere microns in difference with a height Gage! Eyke Supercharged November 13, 2008 Author Share November 13, 2008 max wearable surface is only a couple of mm, so definitely a couple of mm difference. using Brembo Max with slots, the left rotor's slots are almost worn down to nothing, while the right rotor slots are still there. Modykoh 1st Gear November 13, 2008 Share November 13, 2008 could be manufacture fault.. maybe 1 out of a million.,
Shemmy Clutched November 13, 2008 Share November 13, 2008 This brembo max is considered 1 pcs rotor, right? My rotors don't wear out evenly too. Brake pads as well one side worn, the other fine. Previously on 1 pcs rotor AP rotors. Now trying out a 2 pcs rotor kit. Hopefully that helps.

Kyojin 1st Gear November 13, 2008 Share November 13, 2008 is your passenger considerably heavier than you are (my right front brakes produces more dust and rotors wore out faster)? is your tire pressure equal? alignment? did they torque your tyres using a torque wrench or impact wrench? brake proportioning valve okay? driver side brake hose clipped/folded?
Qr25vet Clutched November 14, 2008 Share November 14, 2008 (edited) yes that is correct...EBD is usually the main culprit since the emch said the camipers are nt binding or jammed... Edited November 14, 2008 by Qr25vet ↡ Advertisement
