Tanlc Neutral Newbie November 10, 2008 Share November 10, 2008 Hi there, Recently bought a 2nd hand car (FIT), only the last few days I heard the 'Krrrr...Krrr...' sound coming from the engine compartment. The sound is more audible when I wind-down the driver window. I realised if the switch off the air-con, the sound goes away. Is it normal? ↡ Advertisement

Watwheels Supersonic November 10, 2008 Share November 10, 2008 If it's the air-con pulley or belt loose no need to look for air-con specialist, your regular servicing workshop can also do it.
Fcw75 Hypersonic November 10, 2008 Share November 10, 2008 Fit and Jazz always have this problem. Very noisy when you switch on the aircon. It's due to the compressor kicking in. Change the aircon bearing or belt.
Tanlc Neutral Newbie November 10, 2008 Author Share November 10, 2008 (edited) How much will that cost? Btw, just came back from this Old Uncle @ Kovan whom I asked to take a look at my aircon problem. I must say I really salute him!! He uses a long screwdriver to place its tip at the aircon parts and place his ear on the other tip to listen to the sound produced by the various parts. His uncle really knows his physics well He did say some problem with the aircon tensioner and the water pump. Also, he discovered that the aircon fan is not working which may damage the air compressor. Now I'm thinking how to get the car dealer to fix the problem. Just bought for less than 1 month. His uncle really knows his physics well Sorry OT abit. Can't help but remember this joke. The Lone Ranger and Tonto are riding through the great plains, when they happen upon a small city, located on the transcontinental railroad. As the two approached the tracks, Tonto jumped off of hjis horse and quickly placed his ear to the ground. "What is it ?" asked the Ranger. "Iron Horse come." replied Tonto. "How can you tell?" asked Lone. "Tracks rumble" said Tonto. Sure enough, a train was sighted coming down the tracks only a few miles away. With the Lone Ranger fully impressed, the companions mounted up, and started across the plains once more. A few hours passed before Tonto dismounted once more, and placed his ear to the ground. "What is it Tonto?", asked the Ranger. "There are no train tracks anywhere around here.". After a second , Tonto replied "Buffalo come". Lone remembered the trick from back in town, and asked again "How can you tell?" Tonto replied "Ear sticky"..........
