Sounds like quite a fair price (but can knock it down slightly)

Here's a rough breakdown:

PARF = $12762 (90% OMV)

COE = $30

Body = $1000-2000

TOTAL SCRAP = $14200

Remember that the dealer probably bought this almost at scrap value. So the rest is pure dealer profit.

Cons:

High FC

Pro:

Easy to maintain

Parts are easy to come by

Should be a nice point A to B car with low exposure to loan.

that's a false assumption.

the $101 COE is only worthless a few years ago when the asking prices for such cars were high. the price on this Impreza seems to reflect the low COE price.

when it's scrapped before the 10th anniversary you get $11344... how is that worthless? at $2k++ depreciation per annum for a 7 year old sedan, it's hard to beat.

i dun think the price can lower until 16k la. If dealer is willing i think a $17k will be very good already, considering the dealer also need to earn profit from the resale of the car.

Agree that the car is well maintained, it will be best to arrange for a viewing of the car.

This car has great potential to be modded. Insurance part will be a lil' high i believe.

Asked him to try nego for 16k.. always nego for the lowest.. then try to come to an agreement to the price between both.. nvr say can or cannot.. it all depends on how the dealer will look at it..

mod potential i dunno.. as for insurance it's considered a normal sedan not performance car like rex or evo.. so insurance will depends on age n driving experience, same as other sedans..

i am new here, thanks for the infomation though.

I always thought insurance is based on the number of same model getting into accident. I saw civic higher than other cars. [flowerface]

Maybe some model that is widely found but no one go modify? confirm less accident = less claim. Maybe Nissan Latio... can gather and order together more freebies [cool][cool]

I have buy 2 101 car before.

How worth is worth it???

As long as the car is good condition, then go ahead.

However, if you need to spend money to repair and maintenance, then, too bad.

My last ex, i spent >3k to repairone of them, one spoilt come by another one. Usually, ppl. selling such cheap because all the parts almost reach to life span.

I suggest you send for VICOM before get it, just 100 +++
