Chrispie 5th Gear November 8, 2008 Share November 8, 2008 Nothing wrong with her riding, the way I look at it. She wore helmet, she is turning right( and need to keep left), hence took the outer right turning lane. I think you buay song that you have to slow down because she blocked you slightly when you made the right turn. I have encountered worst riders, and she is definitely not the worst type. Patience, my friend! I agree.. i dun thnk the rider did anything very bad. I was watchg TILL THE END and realized i wasted 2 min of my time hoping for the drifting to take place. The video could have ended much earlier.. I cycle on the road often too. If i have to take the same route as the rider, I would have filtered right early in anticipation of the need for a right turn too. So... whats wrong with that... ↡ Advertisement
Nemo6089 1st Gear November 8, 2008 Share November 8, 2008 Riding a bicycle on Singapore roads is difficult and dangerous, you would not loose anything by slowing down for a few seconds and try to give way to her. Try to be more patient, you will still be able to reach your destination in time. Not all people can afford to drive a car like you, think for other less fortunate than you. Thypig33 Neutral Newbie November 9, 2008 Share November 9, 2008 But the problem here is that the cyclist is quite reckless... even at low speeds, if cyclist decides to anyhow cut, it might cause a collision anytime...

Leo72 6th Gear November 9, 2008 Share November 9, 2008 Managed to record this interesting scene. I saw this lady cyclist on Nicoll Highway towards City direction on Thursady morning. The way she rode was very unstable. For a moment I was wonderig if bicycles are allowed on highway but what a heck... While I turned right at the Nicoll Highway and Middle Road junction, you could see that she performed a "drift" and suddenly cut into my way. Fortunately I anticipated her move and slowly moved behind her. Then while I was on Seah Street and about to North Bridge Road and while I was queuing behind a Comfort taxi, what happend later was even more amazing. She rode past my car from the right and drifted into the North Bridge Road (view partially blocked by the taxi in front of me) into the busy traffic. You could see a while car and another grey car dashed past and nearly bumped into her. I could even hear a loud horn, probably from the white car. What an interesting morning... The cyclist is wrong to cycle on the extreme right lane on the road and turning as if she's riding a bike. If she's riding a bike, there is nothing wrong but not when riding a bicycle. To those who say that's nothing wrong, please go check with the traffic police / LTA on rules and regulation on riding a bicycle. Cyclists are to ride on the extreme left of the road at all times and push their bicycle across the traffic light crossing, not ride across.
Elfenstar 3rd Gear November 9, 2008 Share November 9, 2008 I think you need to re-read it bro. They're allowed to ride on the right to turn right. The pushing is only if they are using the PEDESTRIAN crossing.

Snookium 1st Gear November 9, 2008 Share November 9, 2008 nothing fancy, You should cut down on the length of the video as the rest after the turning to the right are irreverent..
Ender Hypersonic November 9, 2008 Share November 9, 2008 http://www.mycarforum.com/forum/Others_C20...2391567#2392352 Found the thread with the horrible accident on a motorcyclist who drift across a fast moving truck. If the rider can't speed up to maintain clearance (e.g a bicycle), then don't attemp to drift across. When it's the rider's life at stake, don't rely on the alertness of the driver behind you. Even if the rider is legally right, and it's the drivers responsibilty to keep watch, it pays to ride defensively by not drifting across any vehicle that is potentially faster than you. Bloody Morons You're right, there are plenty of non road-worthy cyclists on the roads! I've lost count of the number of times I have to suddenly swerve or jam brakes just to avoid sending these BLOODY MORONS to the world beyond.
Riceracer Clutched November 9, 2008 Share November 9, 2008 (edited) Rich drivers will probably say "Ban all <$200k cars on the road" Ultra rich will probably say ban all <$500k cars Or perhaps ban those cars that cannot accelerate to 100kmh under 5s.
