Omnia 8G and 16G - What is the diff?

Hi all,

 

Is there any other diff between Omnia 8G and 16G?

 

I saw the promo by Singtel. Selling Omnia 8G at $468 and come with 8G Micro SD card. So it look to me that I can pay $468 got thr 16GB (8GB + 8GB)version. Am I correct?

 

But this price is only valid for roadshow, do you guys think no more stock by the time I go tomorrow?

 

BTW, any opinion on F480? Maybe getting one for wife.

For what I know, there is no diff between the 8GB and the 16GB...except for the memory and the colour of the casing.

 

Unless you use it to store lots of MP3 or photos...i think the 8GB is sufficient.

 

I got my wife the 16GB cos the 8Gb was not available in S'pore then. If I could choose between the 2, I'll get the 8GB.

I am worried that 8GB version maybe lousier in term of said processing power or other thing.

 

If it is exactly the same, maybe it is a good buy: $468 with extra 8GB memory card.

 

But the problem is it is valid only on road show, maybe sold out by now?

 

Btw, is the GPS ok? I heard some people complaint it is slow in getting signal

I the processor is the same....so processing power should not be an issue.

everything is the same except the 8gb and is black.

 

GPS is rather slow maybe becos i using Garmin MXT...

 

If u buy it tomolo, check its firmware if it is HH3 pls upgrade to the latest J1.

 

HH3 is a battery killer.

But if I buy it now, it will be 16 GB too since it come with free 8GB memory card.

GPS is slow make me sian 1/2 but depend on whether I want to go buy later or not, very lazy to go out

 

Is $468 with extra 8GB memory a good buy?

Yoo Ah Yoo, If u want fast fast GPS, u can try the following...

 

1) Enable the "Enhanced GPS" and sync with ur WIFI instead of GPRS.

3) Get an addition BT GPS.

Finally I went to the Singtel road show to book my Omnia 8GB with free 8GB memory card. I have paid for the phone and will collecting coming Friday. Super good demand and I queue close to 2 hours .

 

At the same time, bought a pink F480 at $268 for my wife, come with 1GB memory + free leather pouch.

 

Now waiting to collect it coming Friday, hopefully can get used to it.
