that's why, always keep periodical backups..

currently i have 3 HDD in my PC.

Master - 250GB

Slave1 - 500GB

Slave2 - 300GB

All the impt stuff such as photos etc are in Slave1 with weekly backups into Slave2..

Might as well do RAID1 .... [nod][nod]

Bought a Western Digital 320GB USB-powered slim portable HDD at Comex a couple of months back at $150.

Wah ... carrying 320GB of data is no joke ..... guess those not so important files is ok.

For those very important files, I put them on thumbdrive or SD cards.

So are there any slim small 200GB portable harddisk out there?

Now they are 2.5" 320GB portable HDD on the market. Even USB flash drive also have 16GB or 32 GB coming out.

I have a very small 8GB 1.

These are the prices that I got ....

2.5" 120GB (USB2.0)- SGD109.00 - $0.908/GB

2.5" 160GB (USB2.0)- SGD114.00 - $0.712/GB

2.5" 250GB (USB2.0)- SGD139.00 - $0.556/GB

2.5" 320GB (USB2.0)- SGD169.00 - $0.528/GB

2.5" 500GB (USB2.0)- SGD279.00 - $0.558/GB

Seems like per GB best deal is 320GB ... [nod][nod]

Hi,

160GB at $72 is only the harddisk without the casing right?

Because that is $0.45/GB ... very good price.

Another alternative is burn to DVD lor ...4.7 GB of diskspace is less than $1.00 ...get those more reliable brand like Sony, Verbatim etc ...

Still worry ...burn a few copies ...

IMO, for portable i dun recommend to use big capacity HDD.

Cos it will take very long to do data recovery if anything happened.

Example... It took me 5 full days to recover a 160gb HDD.

To recover a 500gb... [rolleyes][rolleyes][rolleyes]
