LTT follows leathermasters' approach to caring for leather. From what i know, they use leathermasters products as a benchmark to test against their own products.

Actually new leather are matt finish.

Older leather look glossy.

In the market some leather care are for matt look, some are for glossy look. I used the Meguiars Gold Class Leather wipe, I have to rinse it with water before using it. Now I buy the leather care from BMW which has UV protection.

Say on a vintage car, someone changed one piece of the leather on the seat, it would be matt and hence look different from the other parts of the seat which are glossy because they are old, then the glossy leather care comes handy. Again, it is up to individual taste.
