170km/- 200km/h is stressful driving.

Anything above 200km/h is extremely stressful driving. Unless there's a really empty stretch, I wouldn't wanna attempt this.... on NSHWY, lorries, coaches and some very slow moving vehicles will just come out onto the outer lane w/o warning or consideration of the approaching rear vehicles. Then must brake like hell just to avoid a collision.

Actually, high speed is not addictive (as mentioned, it is stressful driving).... once you've done your threshold, you'd rarely want to do it again, unless there's something done to the car and one wants to test it out. (Of course racing is a different thing altogether)

it's true, it is stressful but it's one of the way to keep one awake. Just have to watch out for those heavy Lorries, Coaches, Tankers etc..

If your have a very clear road (on the right lane) and you spotted a row of Lorries or Coaches on the left lane, much further in front of you, you better be prepared to slow down as they will signal and cut into the right lane.

Give them a slight opening and they will cut out into the right lane as they do not have many opportunities to over take another slow vehicles in front of them along the N/S HW, they also have a schedule to keep up.

actually i better clarify [;)]

downhill assist, aircon off. and real world speed is always slower [blush]

but then again most pple here are posting speedometer readings and not GPS reading which is usually more accurate, and lower than speedometer speed. [laugh]

did 228 on NSH on my previous ride - CL7A with speed limiter removed.

at that speed car is still stable.

recently clock 205 on my KM ody but it takes forever getting there.

the K20A is a Gem thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gifthumbsup.gif

just one question, the diff between the KM Ody and PI is the gear box, right? KM is 5 speed Auto where PI is CVT?

I heard that the PI CVT can be tuned to have more ponies.

yes k-series engine is quite solid.

for CL7A running on k20a, can feel that it has more to offer but

not balls enough to try.

for ody running on k24, the car is very heavy, so it was quite a struggle to get it over 200. no chance to try PI version, so cannot comment and yes KM ody is 5 speed auto.

Actually it may be 'safer' to push for higher speed with a full load rather than empty. In many case, how fast we dare to push is not due to engine limitation but rather a feeling of stability at high speed. A full load is bound to be more stable than no load..

What do you mean "haven't seen what modded cars can achieve" mad.gif

I also modded my ride... with cold air intake, ADM air-charger and custom-made stainless steel exhaust! scholar.gif

What you have done are not the extreme type of "modded" as mention by Dwoon.

I think nowadays any jap/korean car that is at least 1.5L in engine capacity can hit speeds of 180km/hr in a straight line dash.

But then...stability is another issue sweatdrop.gif

yes, 180km/h not a problem, handling and stability is a big issue at that speed nod.gifnod.gifnod.gif

Also, a slight depression/bump on the road or any piece of debris can easily cause the car to go out of control at that kind of speed. Perhaps thats y there are many accidents on NSH whererby a car can go out of control when travelling at a seemingly straight & unobstructed road.

Guess you haven't seen what modded cars can achieve. What's inside can be totally different from stock.

Can you imagine a Satria doing 9 secs for the quarter mile sprint.....

Please la. Satria is a malaysian car and it is lightweight.

With Turbocharger it is no surprise that it can do that. For my sedan 168 to be able to achive 130 is a great feat. I am a master modder myself, can you install a supercharger yourself?? I guess NOT!

I also DIY the ADM, bought from a guy who dekitted it before he sold off the Getz, didn't work well and sold off later. On smaller cc cars, it may have some effect but none on my 2L engine.

Hahahahahahaha Tuscani is Korean! And so big size do you know that it has a high CG? Sorry to bombard you with all the engineering jargon. CG is Central of Gravitation!

Tuscani (known as Tiburon in the States and Hyundai Coupe in other part) do not have high CG lah, my Trajet and Tuscon will have high CG. here is the pics of Tuscani and just to let you know, there are lots of "modded" tuscani running around, they are all FI, not those Electrical ones that you are using.

oh, just to correct you, CG = Center of Gravity and FI = Force Induction.

here is more info for you on Tuscani or Tiburon : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyundai_Tiburon

I used to try 240kph on my bike, but very scary: U can reach Yio Chu Kang from Orchard within 1-2 minutes! Did 160kph on a honda stream, pretty stable but lacking high end. Wished I gotta GTR to try 300kph...

However, nowadays, if you noticed you cannot even hit 80kph due to the MASSIVE TRAFFIC JAMS: Do you know the reason behind these Jams and Higher ERP? There is documented evidence of the group of people CAUSING ALL THE TRAFFIC JAM and HIGHER ERP Charges in justicebaogong Go check it out.

240kph on a BIKE?? you are the champion... i sit in friend's superfour.. 70kph i sweat aldy...

I took my HD Dyna LowRider upto 190+ and kanna scolded by my wifefurious.giffurious.giffurious.gif, she was the pillon rider sweatdrop.gifsweatdrop.gifsweatdrop.gif
