Anyway, my meter is 200km/h la. 1.3L niah... The needle reached 200km/h at 5,500rpm. Revved further to 6000rpm but needle already stuck at that position, cannot move further. I nid RSM!!!

 

Gen2 doing 200? That's so bull man!!! I don't believe a Malaysian made car can do that.

 

Yes, gen 2 can go up to almost 190 - 200 if pushed. I have seen it... A few times..

alot of cars can hit 180 if pushed hard. I just got back from kl, cars that were travelling at 180+ included mazda 3s, gen2s,wira, waja, perdana, personas etc etc. I once saw a kancil at 180, guy wind windows down smoking somemore.

 

In the right car, 200 feels ok still. in the 5 series, 230 feels like u driving at 160.

I believe you, Why not Gen 2 cant reach 200km/h. Even my 1.5 toyota vois can reach 190km/h with full load(3 aldult, 1 child and full of luggage in the boot)

 

Off the airconditioning, alone in car, empty the boot and a bit of help of going down the slop. Confirmed can. Please try in NSHW

Hahaha! You are right! It's cheap thrill but I just gotta try it. My passengers faces were pale. They keep asking me to slow down. Hahaha! I just wanna know what my car can do. And I guess 130 km/h is the limit! Going +20 km/h above the rated speed is quite dangerous! Hahaha!

 

it will not be cheap thrill if accident happens. if you wanna try top speed, don't do it with your friends, they got their own families too unless you are willing to answer for them.

Anyway, it's was just a few secs when I almost reach 130 km/h and it was a downhill stretch. My car just wasn't meant to go fast. But I'll remember that speeding moment forever. Hahahaha!

i did 170 on my hyundai matrix auto, n that's e max. But car is still stable n no floating feeling bec car is heavy. Constantly doing 130-150 on NSH but car noisy like factory.

190km/h on the straight stretch of ECP towards Changi airport, this is the stretch where you can find flower pots at the center divider, it is also used as an alternate runway for the RSAF.

 

210km/h on the NS H/W, wanting to test out the claimed re-chip top speed of 230km/h but my tyres then were rated "H" which is upto 210km/h, was trying very hard to catch up with a MY 530i

 

Both were done on my old Alfa Romeo 33 1.7 16v back in the mid 90's which I missed dearly

Must see what car u drive and at what speed. A BMW 7-series driven @ 200km/hr can still be stable. But same speed on a Jazz, guarrtnee yr balls strink to marble.

 

I ever did 185km/hr for a few seconds on a stock cs3 Lancer on NSH. U have to grab the steering wheel like holding a bar for chin up, cos the car is practically floating!!!!! That time my balls drop onto the floor mat liao.

 

My current 2.4ltr Sonata have tried numberous times @ 140-150km/hr in spore. Still quite stable. Should be able to go 200km/hr on NSH. Will try it soon.

the Korean cars are much heavier, so shouldn't float as much as the Japs (in stock condition).

did 228 on NSH on my previous ride - CL7A with speed limiter removed.

at that speed car is still stable.

recently clock 205 on my KM ody but it takes forever getting there.

just one question, the diff between the KM Ody and PI is the gear box, right? KM is 5 speed Auto where PI is CVT?

 

I heard that the PI CVT can be tuned to have more ponies

I think nowadays any jap/korean car that is at least 1.5L in engine capacity can hit speeds of 180km/hr in a straight line dash.

 

But then...stability is another issue

yes, 180km/h not a problem, handling and stability is a big issue at that speed
