Recaro seats r optional thou ermm... apparently, those buttons are very much necessary and not meant to make the cockpit look complicated. some are redundancies in case the primary one fails. the present system layouts are already very simple. wait till you see the cockpit of a 747 classic... put a current generation pilot in it, i think he'll go also.
