airliners pay millions for these airlopane, e least they can do is 2 make it look ex n complicated. buttons got use or no use is another all together [laugh] . Recaro seats r optional thou [scholar]

For the amount of money boeing and airbus charge, why can they put in a nicer looking (and maybe more comfortable) pilot seat [hur]

ermm... apparently, those buttons are very much necessary and not meant to make the cockpit look complicated. some are redundancies in case the primary one fails.

 

the present system layouts are already very simple. wait till you see the cockpit of a 747 classic... put a current generation pilot in it, i think he'll go [dizzy] also.

FYI, they are very comfortable seats with 16 ways adjustable settings & even a tray for me to eat my chicken rice.! welcome the addition of extra cup holders! one for beer ,one for kopi!

btw, it is the one year anniversary of the A380 going into service with SQ. It was October 25 2007 when the first commercial flight of SQ A380 took off for Sydney....

The old 747s had something like almost 900-1000 gauges/lights and switches?

Need an extra flight engineer to monitor everything.

 

backups and backups of backups... think it goes to 3 or 4 levels [laugh]
