Car slams into tree, driver trapped

32223489bi1.jpgA driver of a Mitsubishi Lancer lost control and smashed his vehicle into a tree along Bedok North Road near PIE

 

A DRIVER, who slammed his black Mitsubishi Lancer into a tree along Bedok North Road at around 11am, had to be extricated from his car by the Singapore Civil Defence Force on Friday morning.

 

He suffered head injuries and multiple cuts on his legs.

The driver was found to be in a drowsy state when SCDF personnel arrived, and was taken to Changi General Hospital by noon.

 

The car was badly damaged. The driver's side of the car had been completely smashed in.

 

Its bumper was torn off and the windscreen was completely shattered, with half of it lying in a nearby ditch along with a licence plate and a rearview mirror.

 

The driver was said to have been alone at the time of the accident

he could have been drifting, or sleeping.

or drink-driving? or maybe just the rain.

 

or maybe that area is not so clean.

car vs tree and tree wins again.

 

im just speculating... drove past that area around 11.45am

that scene looks real bad

strange [hur] if you look at drivers that like to hug tree......clear cut trend..MOST below 30 years old & Cat A...car [nod] this morning at 7am..near Bedok Court (Bedok sth Ave 3) saw a white Avante SJ*7050 (OPC) band the tree...2 airbags deployed.. again driver below 30yrs! [rifle]

well, it depends on the speed when it wraps the tree, isn't it ? any faster, I think driver will ... [shakehead]

 

at least, he's still alive according to the time of this report.

Very weird that someone went to the trouble of opening the bonnet and propping it up. What purpose does that serve?

 

I guess the Evo spoiler, the aftermarket wheels and the strut bar failed to keep the car on the road. [lipsrsealed]
