Bought my car in 2006.

My car listed in pricelist was ~$55k, each item I did not want, we agreed on a cash discount. I end up buying my car for ~$53+k. The solar film is one of those things that I opted out of, as I wanted to get V-Kool instead.

But since it came delivered, I left it as such.

Anyway, don't believe that everything is standard issue.

It is common knowledge that many cars come into Singapore in a stripped down spec so as to attract as little tax as possible. What is usually fitted here are leather seats, sport rims, car audio head units, body kits, window tinting. My reasoning is, why rip out or cover perfectly good cloth seats? Use it until it rips and then cover with leather. AD-supplied sports rims usually look ugly, I rather have my own choice of rim design.

These so-called "standard" items are actually items you can opt out of to bring the price of the car down.

The exceptions are some special models which come exactly as from factory, but then those attract a similarly high tax and selling price.

My choices and personal opinions...

1. RSZ $78K

Still consider pricey. I would have book if RSZ have drop a couple of K's more... $74K ~ $76K... (hope lisa is watching...) [sly]

2. Wish $68K

XL Limited is value for money at that price...

3. Latio Sports $60K

Lack excitement but, my economical type of car...

4. Qashqai $76K

New consideration...

$66K is BM Wish AeroTourer... it was claimed to be XE with HOS BK.. [:/]

$68 is PI Wish X Limited... more value for money compare to XE... [;)]

How I wish KM can match $76K... start dreaming... [laugh]

I feel among the 3, it is the most quiet one and more suitable for family. Now it come with 5AT which supposingly giving better FC.

Why not you try out all at the same time so that you know what you want. After try out Mazda 5 and Stream, I am 99% confirm going for Mazda 5 as it is really what I want. Of course, if the price too high, I will give it a missed.

My SE said she will update me the price tomorrow but confirm good price. But the current economy situation make me think twice.

Mazda 5 has nice sliding door that the other two don't have. Wish got a great combination of chassis, engine and gearbox, which makes it both fuel economical and decently quick. The Stream is the best looker of the three.

Yah, each has its unique good points. So you choose what you like, not what people think you should like [:p] .

Mazda 5 sliding door is auto, can control from driver side or thru remote control [thumbsup]
