Available in UK in sep/oct, and the good news, only the top-range titanium model will be higher priced at 200 pounds higher. The rest of the specs will be the same price. So Regent please bring this in at a competitive price, pretty please

with current Mondeo 2.3Duratec 161bhp at $111,777....

the new 2.0Ecoboost 240bhp 6DSG with same specs (supposedly) will probably be at $151,777....

easily at least $40k more....

thanks to the new engine....

Titanium Spec, you'd be looking at a price closer to $180k....

and i think the current Mondeo only has the specs that the Japanese rivals has....

things like 6Airbags, 2-zone air cond, rear shade, twin electric seats etc....

RM is always varying the specs for each shipment that comes in apparently....

SE says the car should be arriving Dec this year and says price is likely to be 130k. The spec for the car will be the 2L 240hp model with dual clutch. I want a mondy, but don't think 130k is going to cut it with a lot of buyers. So the scenario for the car will eventually turn out like how it did for my focus. Launch price 82k, after 9 months, 64k for a new model with better spec and 17in rims.

Likewise for the Mondy when it was first launched, 110k for the trend spec, but at one stage, it was going for only 84k or 87k, which is a whopping 25% off the original price. So the moral of the story, wait a few months and when no one bites, they will lower the price naturally.

I have to say, the dashboard looks so much better without the silver trimmings. Looks classier and probably feels better to the touch

yah....

i agree with you with regards to the dashboard....

the silver interior trims made the car look really cheap inside....

haha....

but 2.0L 240bhp at $130k plus is a steal at current car prices leah....

don't forget, Camry 2.4L is already at $125k....with the hybrid at $145k....

actually, when i was asking about te camry, with the promotion freebies thrown in, the nett car price is about 107k only. Lexus IS250 when they were doing stock clearance was only 139k nett everything thrown in. So the Camry is still a lot cheaper. Passat CC now on promo as well for 142k, so the mondy really has to be priced competitively.

Supercharged

but with 240bhp,

who will get the 200bhp???

not everyone wants to pay (tens of) thousands of dollars more to get:

- higher petrol consumption

- for a mere 0.4 seconds improvement in 0-100km/h timing

- an increase of max speed from 232km/h to 246km/h

u should learn to look beyond bhp,

if u r capable of that [laugh][laugh]

are the prices you state, current prices for current promo's???

cos the Passat CC as far as i know is going from $152k, though list price starts from $172k....

and i didn't know there's promo for Camry....

all i know is that the 2.0L starts from $118,988....

haha....

actually i thought the 240bhp was meant to be a replacement or update from the 200bhp version....

meaning to say,

they won't sell the 200bhp version....

until you reminded me that both will be sold alongside each other....

between the 40bhp, and just a slight improvement of engine performance,

the cost difference is definitely significant enough....

that may not be the case locally.

hope they bring in the 200bhp so it'll be cheaper.
