How would you rate Regent's service standard? I am not very 'cat' type, as long as they can do their job according to standard servicing procedure and not introducing new problems when you ask them to fix some issues, I can be very easily satisfied.

Am thinking about either Ford Focus sedan or Mondeo.

BTW, anyone keeping abreast of how Ford (as a manufacturer) is doing? Are they likely to survive this melt down?

They're doing quite well. Managed to survive this crisis without government aid.

Ford really do build great cars and their new cars are testimony to that e.g. Fiesta, Taurus. Even their new Ecoboost engine is good. Hope they arrive in Singapore.

GM and Chrysler should just f*ck off. They will never be smart enough to create substantial EOS for their own.

Ecoboost engine 1.6L deliver 185bhp with 20% FC improve. If that is really true, this will be the next leader in Performance with muscular look car.

RM service standard has got better thru the years, I drove Ford Focus Mk2 for 4 years before changing to Mondeo. Parts is also reliable, eg. the 2nd battery that I changed have 3yrs warranty & cost only $130. Heard from SE that a new service manager has just transfer from PML, maybe to enhance the service quality of VA.

post-39255-1252054331_thumb.jpgBro, this is my ride, reg in Jun 09. Is a driver's car and best family sedan, huge boot space (can pack 2 kid's 16" bike, good for picnic.) There are two unsolve flaw, 1.Caution not to lift up wiper during car wash, it will scratch the bonnet. 2. Do not lift up tailgate suddently after car wash or rain, you might get wet. Typical of Regent motors to over price their cars for suckers... yeah, I believe they'll try to sell their 25k OMV cars for 125k as you mentioned. Let's see which suckers will bite.

oh yes...because of the liftback design, it collects water and then when you open the boot, all the water flows down towards you!!

funny you should point that out...

it's useful tip to buy liftback in singapore's unpredictable tropical climate...

This is a value for money car in Europe. That is why it always vote #1 in its category.

Dont think it will dare to sell at volvo price. it is supposed to market below that brand. whose know it turn out to be similar as VW, whereby as they came out their TSI range, their latter price is more attractive than before. If price at 125k, that it will be competiting with premium brand like BMW, Audi, Merc........etc

hope that this car would sell around or slightly below current 2.3L Mondeo price range

I would buy the mondeo if it sells for 90-100k with the 2.0l ecoboost + Dual clutch 6 speed.

what's not to like. lower road tax, lower fuel consumption, same excellent handling, better performance. drool..

Dunno when Regent will get their hands on this new mondeo.

One thing is for sure, once news of this new mondeo comes out, the current mondy will not be able to sell unless v. cheap.
