Tanjkp Clutched October 21, 2008 Share October 21, 2008 So instead of IBM laptop, now is Lenovo. Likewise instead of Rover, now is "Red Car" ?
Silver_blade Turbocharged October 21, 2008 Share October 21, 2008 (edited) It's a bit complicated. - 'Rover' brand was retained by BMW and was sold to Ford together with Land Rover (which is owned by TATA, together with Jag). BMW retain the 'Mini' brand. - SAIC bought some of Rover's intellectual property eg. Rover 45 and Rover 75. It is now marketed as Roewe 75. - Nanjing Auto Group bought over the MG division of Rover (MG brand and cars) and are now going to start building some old model at Longbridge, UK. I'm not sure who owns other former Rover brands such as Triumph, Austin-Healey, Riley, etc tho. Maybe BMW? Silver_blade Turbocharged October 21, 2008 Share October 21, 2008 My last association with Rover were a beat-up Austin Maestro (sold by Rover) which I used for less than a year (in the UK) and the Rover45 which I used for under a year & sold at zero loss. I find the problem with Rover is it's image. Too ah peh.
