Subaru Legacy or Mazda 6

Legacy is fierce? Just my opinion, ppl would, rather, I would buy, a legacy because it is not fierce. :)

Knowing that it a relatively nice to drive car, with nice sound system, nice interior, somewhat firm ride. That is the selling point. Although u probaby wont ever drive up to its max performance capacity, but knowing that it is there, also make one feel good when compared to another car. but, the legacy is suppose to blend in. not to stand out.

Singapore is like that. unless u race, all u need to worry about is installment, petrol, erp, parking and the anual roadtax and insurance.

if u want to dress up this car, i'd say it will really better off with a mazda6 to begin with. Mazda6 look more fierce. :)

Guys,

Need your opinion .....

Which one would you choose to get ? Legacy or 6. Do state your reasons as well. Xie Xie !!

cannot compare... Mazda 6 is like an obese Mazda 3

Legacy is like a fierce road handling machine

Go test drive both cars and decide with your heart.

I test drove the Legacy and JDM Accord. Went for the Legacy in the end. (no special reason, just loved it :))

Mazda 6 - For its driving dynamics ; steering feel is much more communicative...

The legacy AWD is not really necessary for singapore roads...

Go test drive both...

Drive them hard around the bends.. and let your heart tell you the answer...

I previous read numerous review on Honda Accord JDM and was dog-keen on getting one...

After one test drive , I relinquished the idea.....

it had equally numb steering as my previous civic...

So, Go test drive both....after which comments and reviews are merely another set of opinions...

Turbocharged
put the 2L NA leggy and older version mz6 side by side ... do a qtr mile

then you tell me the results

wink.gif

for that matter ... throw in the 2.3 version as well for benchmarking sake

BTW ... I must quantify that i had not tested the new mz6 so i have no idea how the new one performs

but the rear looks is funny ... like the face of a anal retentive spaceman that cannot get enough screw

overall if i am not worried about old model or new model... Legacy gets my vote for

1. world krass audio

2. awd

3. frameless windows

the let downs are weak brakes, 4sp gearbox and anal retentive AD

if $$ is not a problem .... get the L GT ... confirm a smile on both cheeks !

as a audio noob, i was actually expecting a feel like in a cinema.. u know, the swoosh sound left, right, front, back... laugh.gif

anyway, the number of speakers installed in the car (11 or 13? cant rem) is quite an overkill for me... only listen 933 fm lalio or probably some barney songs laugh.gif

heard its good for vocal musics..able to bring out the 'soul' of the singer.. didn't try tho.

those who love blam blam type of songs, maybe need to add more amps and bigger sub (stock already got amp and sub leow..)

one of the (many) reason i got my car is the frameless window and sunroof (and its huge for the wagon). my kids can marvel at the lights, and if rain, the raindrops on the roof

imho, in sg awd isn't really useful.. for the power loss due to this, i'd say, its compensated (somewhat) by the higher horses that come with the car.

and yes.. fc... 7+km/l (30%highway), 9-10kml (80%highway). and mine is a 2.0 turbo. 2R should be better nod.gif

anyway, the TS should go and test drive the cars and compare.. i tested at least 4-5 times before coming to a decision drivingcar.gif

It is a difficult decision to choose between Mazda 6 2.5l and Legacy GT, price very close to each other. But if the STI upgrade included in Legacy GT will will breach 100k mark [:/] too bad I can't get decent price my current ride.

Even I am driving lau Mazda 6 I am more incline to Legacy GT, for it's TC and SI-Drive. But Mazda 6 interior is much better than Legacy GT. Additional plus for Mazda 6 is front passenger electric powered seat......

I don't like legacy-R, for this I will prefer mazda 6 with my no brainer choice.

Hello!! i am guessing yours is the FL model for the 13 speakers

me is 11 ... bcos its a pre FL 04

well... for the speakers to swoosh left and right ... can be done

but not before blowing a lot of bling bling ...

stock is enough to blow me away

i never realized how good the McInt is ... until i borrowed my BIL's Mit Grandis

the radio sucks !!

i wont say the awd isnt useful ... kept me out of trouble a few times already

i dont know about you but i think the looks is starting to wear out already esp with the new introduction of Teana and Mz6

I am even toying with the idea of a used 523 or 525

well, we shall see how that one goes along

drive safe and have loads of fun !

Well go and have a test drive on both car and decide base on your feeling for me I love my 1 week old Mazda 6 2.5 and there is sure lots of nice small feature on the MZ6 than the Legacy.

Just finish 1st full tank around 8.5 km per litre. The consumption similar to my last M6 2.3, except my current tire is 245 45 R18. Still running in.

Guess you have to ask yourself what you looking for in a 2.0 car? If you are looking at power then Legacy but your FC will suffers as the power is spread across 4 wheels. If you are looking at exterior design and some features then the answer will be the new Mazda 6.

But comparing interior features and comfort level, both above models will not be the choice as there is only 1 model which will give you comfort among all the Japanese 2.0 models, it is the Nissan Teana. [thumbsup]

Eh bro, Teana no looks no comfort no power? Sure looks are subjective, but comfort and power?

I dunno whether you seriously mean it, or you are just saying that to spite Tas because of what he said in the other thread.

Guess it will be wise for you to keep quiet when you have never even test drive it. [thumbsup]

Besides, I have seen more Teana on the road than the Tom Yam Accord or Mazda 6 despite Teana launch in Singapore later than the Accord or Mazda 6.

Hahahahah!!! where u live and work? next to nissan showroom?

please dont talk nonsense, teana more than accord or 6? either you never see what a accord or 6 looks like, or your maths fail, or your eyes selective, or all of the above

Guess it will be wise for you NOT TO ROAD HOG, HOGGER!

comparatively speaking. i have test drove or sit before the accord, camry, 6, and legacy before deciding on a rex

in terms of power and road holding wise, i feel is legacy but not very fair for me to comment since i drive subaru, and that only the legacy is AWD compare to the rest

in terms of comfort, depend on person, some people feel picanto more comfort than mercedes, personally i felt that the most comfortable was camry, in fact too comfortable i nearly fall asleep
