Was intending to renew it after driving for 10 months, but I wrecked the car due to my carelessness. You can see my post in the previous page, I attached a picture of the car as well. I will suggest save the repair fee and scrap the car. Use the $5000 repair fee and PARF buy a new car. For your age and budget, I'd recommend the new Swift or Honda Jazz 1.3. Price should be in the low $70k. Edited October 9, 2018 by Zxcvb

Imagine the swift sport I know what you mean. My wife used to own the old swift sport so i am pretty familiar with that car as well. I scared I won't be able to resist the new sport as my current COE will be expiring in March next year. But then again, the handling of the 1-liter felt too light so it didn't give me enough confidence to push it too much. I hope the sport will at least have better steering feedback.

Roh96 6th Gear October 9, 2018 Share October 9, 2018 I tested the new Swift over the weekend. What I like: 1) Sporty dashboard and steering wheel (D-shaped) 2) It comes with cruise control, LED lights 3) All disc brake 4) Pick up is good, reaching 90/100 km/h with ease. 5) Paddle shifters add more fun to overall driving experience 6) 6 speed GB What I dislike 1) Boot space is small 2) Engine noise is obvious if rev above 3k 3) Can feel vibration at idling, should be due to 3cyl engine 4) Hard plastics all over due to budget

Pocus Turbocharged October 9, 2018 Share October 9, 2018 (edited) Quote Alright thanks! Shall head down tomorrow to take a look. Hopefully everything goes smoothly. I'm sorry if this is out of topic, but I wonder what are the opinions of you guys about the Kia Cerato? It's going at $72,999 at the moment! Tested the Kia Cerato K3, felt the car is one confused machine as the gearbox seem to struggle to match the rev of the engine, resulting in a car that is noisy on revs. SE tries to sell it as sporty but how can it be sporty when car is not lethargic? The Swift on the other hand is much better drive to zip arpund if you are looking for drivability than functional. For the K3 I rather you look at the Elantra. Much more refined with same engine as the Kia and very loan options and interest rates. Edited October 9, 2018 by Pocus

Actually, let's be honest. You are reluctant to sell because you will lose big time ... right?

You are reluctant to sell because you will lose big time ... right? thats partly the reason but the overall drive of a swift is really still way more engaging, trust me. there is a reason why i bought it right after test driving, that was after i test drove mazda 2/city/attrage/lancer. when i test drove elantra this year, i was really tempted despite having to take the loss and i'm ready to take the loss for a bigger and more spacious car. i've driven k3/avante/santa fe/mini for both personal and work. test drove city/attrage/lancer/elantra. k3 - no power even if you floor the accelerator, feels like you are trying to pull a truck with a tiny engine avante - manual so the overall drive was decent santa fe - huge suv and you feel like a king in it mini - winner hands down but of course comes at a price city - decent drive, can never go wrong with honda as they are branded a "driver's car" attrage - forget it but good for wallet lancer - heavy and boring elantra - better drive than k3 with full features nothing comes close to the drive engagement of the swift but if you compare comfort/space then swift is definitely at the bottom, the only comparative drive will be the mini. of course if we look at the value for money point of view, swift loses too. can't imagine how the drive of the new swift sport is with that engine pulling such a lightweight car. swift is definitely not a family car but it is a great car for single/couple but pricing wise...mehhh. MelvinOh 1st Gear October 11, 2018 Share October 11, 2018 Hey guys, just wanna update that the $10,000 VES Surcharge has been removed for the Swift and it is now going at $69,999.Unfortunately, I placed a deposit for a parallel imported Jazz 1.5 Hybrid just yesterday. It was $76800 which I thought was rather reasonable. The Suzuki dealer just informed me about the price change earlier today, but it was too late..Guess it's fated for me to not get another Swift, haha.

But at that point of time, I felt that $76,900 just wasn't really worth it, given the many other options available at that price point or lower. (Basically paying for the VES.) So happened that yesterday, my dad's friend offered the Honda Fit 1.5A Hybrid(I think I said Jazz wrongly in the previous post) at $77,000 with 1 bid guaranteed COE, so I placed the deposit and took it up. And only today I received the message from the Suzuki salesperson that the VES has been removed... Would have given it serious thought had I known earlier that it would be $69,900. Unfortunate.
