Keithhiap 1st Gear October 18, 2008 Share October 18, 2008 Monday 13-10-08 - installation appointment 9 - 11am Never arrive in time - arrived at 1115am Upon setting up, never teach how to use (of course, i know), just leave very quickly. Before signing the package, told the sales guy, that we will install trunking instead of the Home plug (wiseless - PCL) On the day of installation, never come and install the trunking, instead wants to sell me the Home plug for $53+ Ok, i leave the LAN cable on the floor, arrange SAT to install the trunking. Day 2 of usage... Everytime i surf net using Wi-Fi, the Mio box will mute after surfing about 15 mins or more. No way to recover the audio, even i turn off my Wi-Fi. Restart the Mio Box, once awhile can resume the audio, however, once awhile will mute. Next appointment SAT 18-10-08 Trunking guy 4 to 6pm Technical guy 4 - 6pm Only trunking man arrive in time, i waited for the technical guy (installer) till 6 pm, no sign of arrival. I have call customer service and complain, and order them to get the installer to call me within 10 mins time, no reponse. 605pm, after leaving my mum's home, he called me but i was driving, so i could not pick up the call, moreover, the service they give me is unacceptable. Late in appointment, and whatever i have told to the customer service, all not synchronized. Really disappointed. I am going to terminate by force and i wont compensate them the penalty. Due to the appointment, i just took 2 hrs off, and due to their lateness, i have force to take half day leave. Kernong Neutral Newbie October 18, 2008 Share October 18, 2008 i have similar experience with mio also. the installer (apparently a 3rd party vendor contracted by singtel) came to install n told my dad we need a home plug, abt $50. We refused as singtel did not inform us beforehand. we told the installer not to continue the installation, but he became agitated and told us we were wasting his time. He wanted us to sign a form stating that we rejected the installation n agree to pay a certain amt of money. we also refused to sign that. He shouted some vulgarities at my dad and we had to push him out of the flat. This guy is taller n big in size...abt 1.85m. Keithhiap 1st Gear October 18, 2008 Author Share October 18, 2008 wow, crap, shouted at u guys... in the end, do u guys really compensate the penalty? seriously, i feel that the installer is not professional enough. and their punctuality is totally failure. i spoken to the customer service telling the, 4 to 6pm, meaning they should come in between this timing, not come after 6 and starts installing or troubleshooting. the best part is, the sales is a walk in sales, and the sales guy never told me the Home Plug is FOC if our contract is 1yr, i found out from the customer service. and now even they compensate me the Home Plug FOC, my mum already damn pissed off already. We subscribe is become my mum is alone at home most of the time, so to keep her accompany, we subscribe Mio TV for her. Now the situation is worst then i expected. Kernong Neutral Newbie October 18, 2008 Share October 18, 2008 i got an email address from a fren who said i cld send my complain to singtel. so i email to the person and got a response that his mgrs will attend to the problem. so this mgr said they r sorry and ASKED me how i got the email. actually i also did not know who im emailing to.. haha. but in the end they offered to give some free modem. but i was too angry to accept it. This incident was abt 1 yr ago i tink. so im still watching starhub cable. i tink if scv can make it then carry on wif scv ba. unless u can still trust mio again. me not goin to give 2nd chance to them. unless they can come up wif EPL. Very irritating indeed. When i said no, I had to wait for the trunking contractor to call me to make another appointment to install the trunking. NB, waste my time... KNN!! Anyway, since my mum want to watch some of the drama series, i did not terminate immediately. But i terminated once the contract was up. Then switched to SCV. Much better service. Sony 1st Gear October 18, 2008 Share October 18, 2008 To be fair to the installer, they are sub contractor and their troubleshoot knowledge is limited.. anything more than standard and they refer you back to singtel.. if you want their service to be sync and be on time, take the morning slot so that you are their 1st customer on the card. if you are going to take the evening slot, then any delay in the early slot will eat into yours, thus if you are lucky, they turn up, otherwise, they tell u got to reschedule. BTW, why trunking and not homeplug? I find trunking to be ugly and exposed. lastly, the prog on mio is not really attractive.. Modykoh 1st Gear October 18, 2008 Share October 18, 2008 when i had mine done up, the installer was a current NTU student and can say he is quite good... overall he fully installed the set up plu hook up 2 of my note book... he did come late ,,no problem for me...as i expect them may be late due to the previous owner delays..sometime is good, if can, reserve "a day for them..don line up an appt after the installation...just like doing servicing for car or modd...dont line up to pick up OC immediate afther that..u may ended up no time to inspect or get frustrated if been delay... I was the one available on the installation date. The info given to me was the installation guy will come between 11am to 1pm. And he arrived at 11.15am. Install and configure everything within 30mins and explained all there is to know. Dan he proceeded to call customer service and put me on the line. Customer service lady: Is everything properly installed, sir? Me: Yeah.... Customer service lady: Is everything properly explained to you , sir? Me: Yes. Customer service lady: What time did the installer arrived? Me: 11.15am Customer service lady: Are you satisfied with the service? Me: Very. After that I handed the hp back to the installer, signed the documents and left. Spent only an hour, after that I headed for lunch and headed for office. Your case must be a lot of customers signed up at the same time. Installed in Sept. up till now no problem so far, fixed line(digital), wireless, surf net, all ok. Watwheels Supersonic October 18, 2008 Share October 18, 2008 If u wanna do trunking extension your tel line, it's best u source for somebody else to do it rather dan thru Singtel cos they will add their charges on top of sub-contracting to outsider to do it for you. Most neighbourhood electrician can do it. Maybe the communication between u and the sales person were not clear on who's doing the extension. Alpha78 6th Gear October 18, 2008 Share October 18, 2008 My mio box power adapter went kaput on Thursday, and I have been stranded for 2 days without my voice line. This is after 1 year and 7 months of usage. Distributor don't have stock for adapters this week, SingTel technician can only come on Monday. Called distributor, they said they are out of stock for power adapter, earliest is next week. Jeffang Neutral Newbie October 18, 2008 Share October 18, 2008 my appt they also late! was 11-1pm and they turn up 3pm!!! late by 2 hours! then ask the installer what time can finish? he told me 30-40min, but end up say line cannot sync and need to wait, then 5pm tell me all people at singtel gone home, need to come back and solve tomorrow! then i call and tell them i want to cancel, which i cannot let them watse my time again tomorrow, which then they call the engr back to singtel office to solve for me, and end up 8pm then tested everything ok... total 5hour! then the next day (friday) i reset it (on 12noon), cannot surf again! which they tell me is friday! most people off or not working at singtel! and tell me to wait for them until monday! what a joke! so i cancel it and without need to pay anything! Called SingTel and was told to go down to the distributor for exchange, but their office open only Mon to Fri 6pm. F$%& the operator (in nice but firm tone) until he arranged Mon technician to rectify the problem. Technician was on time, so no issue. But now think of it, adapter kaput whole house telephone cannot work, even I've tried to use the cheap cheap cable phone...just no sound. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
