Jc777 Neutral Newbie October 16, 2008 Share October 16, 2008 moostafar also carries tanita products, if not wrong, should be MIJ (made in japan). this brand seems quite good, have wide range of weighing equipment, from precision weighing machine to kitchen scale to bathroom scale. not too sure how competitive are their pricing compared with taka or others. but should be worth checking out. Any suggestions on where i can get the above am looking for one that measures metabolism, bone mass, body fat percentage basically advanced models been looking around saw tanita one on the web but have to buy online. not osim because the tanita one seems to have more functions ↡ Advertisement

Tjkbeluga 5th Gear October 17, 2008 Share October 17, 2008 I got this in Japan 2 months ago from BicCamera: http://www.tanita.co.jp/tanita/hp/productD...?_productId=786 After 20% discount using my ex-colleague's membership card, it's slightly less than 10000yen, which is around SGD 135. I was so tempted to get the BC-621 because it has much nicer user interface but the functions and capabilities are exactly the same. However, the price was 5000 yen more doesn't justify to me. Only thing is that the user interfaces are all in Japanese.

Tjkbeluga 5th Gear October 18, 2008 Share October 18, 2008 Do they sell those that has the detachable handle bar with cable which the user can hold on while measuring the body composition? I almost bought the omron model when I was there coz their design looks better but I wanted the bone mass functionality for my wife. Anyway, these measurements are just a rough indicators, not to be taken too seriously.
Tjkbeluga 5th Gear October 18, 2008 Share October 18, 2008 I am a happy user of Omron HBF-362. It is a little on the high side. http://www.omron-healthcare.com.sg/product...ight_hbf362.htm Oh yes! This was the model I saw in Japan, and was having hard time getting this one or the Tanita one which I eventually bought. They were about the same price. Design wise, Omron wins hands down, but it didn't have bone mass calculation I wanted.
