Raytham Neutral Newbie November 2, 2011 Share November 2, 2011 Sirion is built to european specs. i fell for it because of the 4 airbags and 4 star ncap rating. The wiper and signal controls are also european layout, ie signal lever on left side. Next time upgrade to bmw not so confusing mah. Ok, forget the last sentence. Thats my day dream. Everybody's dream to upgrade to a Bimmer haha. I fell for the Sirion interior space and nippy ride. ↡ Advertisement
Raytham Neutral Newbie November 2, 2011 Share November 2, 2011 lots of difference. ecu different. sirion uses a newer one, myvi using the old yrv ecu thats why the yrv turbo stock ecu can bolt onto myvi and not on sirion. sirion using electronic power steering. myvi is not. (new 1.5 myvi using electronic power steering) sirion has 2 oxygen sensors, one at the exhaust manifold, the other at the exhaust pipe. (new 1.5 myvi has 2 as well) sirion has anti roll bar comes stock. myvi doesnt have but have got after market option. these are just some of the difference i can remember. oh and i feel sirion has a nicer interior as well.. myvi one looks very old school.. no offence to myvi owners, personal preference. Oh no wonder the Myvi in malaysia so powerful haha. Plus its lightweight sure is a straightline performer.
Route Clutched November 2, 2011 Share November 2, 2011 malaysia lot of myvis running on yrv turbo engine or bolt on turbo.. too bad sg law too strict. weight for myvi and sirion is around the same thou i remembered sometime back when i saw the specs that sirion is a little lighter than the myvi. Has to depend on which year model. If 2009 onwards...the facelift is nicer...But I prefer Sirion interior.

Vinceng Turbocharged March 24, 2012 Share March 24, 2012 Daihatsu Sirion 1.3M on 195/50R15 tyres with K&N drop-in filter. The rest all stock. 1) TYRES Stock tyre size for Sirion 1.3 is 175/65R14. Which is the most accurate upgrade for minimal disruption to speedometer reading? 195/50R15 or 195/55R15 ? Any significant difference in comfort for the latter (195/55R15) with higher sidewall? 2) FUEL ECONOMY I noticed fuel consumption is same as city driving (change gear at 2K to 2.3K rpm) at highway speeds of 100km/h when rpm reads 3K rpm. Most economical highway speed is at 80km/h on 5th gear at 2K rpm (1.3 manual). 3) FUEL INDICATOR *No addiional top up once fuel noozle cuts off when filling up tank to full. 50/50 highway/city driving, change gear at 2K to 2.3K rpm) 1st bar - 80km From 2nd bar onwards - drops one bar every 50km Fuel consumption 12.5km/l on average. 4) FUEL GRADE Min ROM 90RON. Am using 95RON. If pump 92RON, any reduction in power and fuel economy? For all my previous Jap cars that can take 92RON, I felt a reduction in pick up power, higher fuel consumption and noisier engine on 92RON. Sirion owners, please advise. Much appreciated. I driving a Myvi...same as Sirion. My experience with RON92 is Not much diff in terms of FC but reduction of pick up and rough experience of the acceleration can be felt. Therefore I still stick with RON95. RON98 experience was fine but in terms of FC not so good cos tend to drive higher speed when u feel better pickup. Mine is Manual at 16-17km/l with RON95. If all along using RON92 then is fine...but if use RON95 then down to RON92...will feel the slight diff.
