it's part of the ERP master plan. my friend's wife works in LTA and she did not deny nor admit when I suggested that ERP will be up around the whole island within these 10 years.

Got this from the news. Personally i think the traffic ard 7-7.30am is not heavy but the rate is the most expensive.

 

 

 

Selected ERP rates to go up by 50%, new gantry at PIE

 

Motorists will have to pay more to use the Eastbound ECP (Marina South) and the slip road from Ophir Road.

 

From November 3, ERP (Electronic Road Pricing) rates for two gantries will be increased by 50 per cent to $1.50, announced the Land Transport Authority (LTA) today.

 

Currently, ERP rates for both gantries stand at $1.00. The rates for the other gantries will remain unchanged.

 

ERP will also be implemented along the PIE (Westbound) before Eunos Link with effect from Nov 3.

 

From 7.00am to 7.30am, motorists will have to pay $2.00. From 7.30am to 8.00am, they will only have to pay $1.00.

According to LTA, traffic speeds along the stretch have fallen below the threshold levels.

 

LTA reviews the traffic conditions on the expressways and roads every quarterly and for the June and December school holidays.

 

Following each review, ERP rates will be adjusted where necessary to achieve optimal traffic flow.

live at kembangan area so i am quite lucky to be able to avoid this dreaded erp gantry but i am worried about the effects this has on the traffic along jalan eunos/eunos link even though they recently expanded the roads there by 1 lane and the already super duper jammed up ecp in the morning.. it's really a joke to see all the cars crawling under the ecp erp gantry in the morning to pay $2.50 ...

WOW lau eh !got to agree with u,7-730 is not that heavy coz i everytime try to drive out at 715am b4 the kallang erp activate at 730am .but knn now got to move at 6 plus liao or worse still sleep at my workplace .
