Nhyone 4th Gear September 29, 2008 Share September 29, 2008 What's up at Kallang? Every evening when I go home, I always encounter a heavy or massive jam on the PIE. The sign says "heavy/massive jam until Kallang". What's up at Kallang that causes the bottleneck? ↡ Advertisement
Tomkurus Clutched September 29, 2008 Share September 29, 2008 I suspect it's a bottleneck because cars from CTE filter into PIE for journey to the eastbound, while traffic from PIE filtering out at almost the same junction into Kallang, henceforth the bottleneck plus you know MOST Singapore's drivers' attitude "WHY SHOULD I GIVE WAY TO YOU" so one thing leads to another.. my advise:- if from PIE towards east always keep right. Shull Turbocharged September 29, 2008 Share September 29, 2008 Bottleneck is usually at 1) PIE exit to CTE(AMK/Town) 2) CTE Exit PIE(Changi) 3) Paya Lebar and Ubi exit..

Crxzc 1st Gear September 29, 2008 Share September 29, 2008 shhhhhhh or else soon we will have ERP there
Gantan88 Clutched September 29, 2008 Share September 29, 2008 If you are going westbound from east, can try to use ECP then AYE... maybe slightly longer, but i escape the jam... I took PIE for my journey home often also, from east to west. Always "PIE Jam until Kallang" or "Massive Jam from Tampines onwards". Sucks... so sometimes i take ECP.... and ECP not much flyovers so travel also smoother... I heard in Nov there is a ERP that will turn on on PIE westbound at Eunos there? Kyojin 1st Gear September 29, 2008 Share September 29, 2008 it's just people being idiots - trying to exit at the very last minute or the left lane folks not giving way to merging traffic.
Espire 1st Gear September 29, 2008 Share September 29, 2008 Not to mention the infamous JAM TO BKE.... on PIE from Stevens onwards towards Jurong.
Sosaria Twincharged September 29, 2008 Share September 29, 2008 Quote What's up at Kallang? Every evening when I go home, I always encounter a heavy or massive jam on the PIE. The sign says "heavy/massive jam until Kallang". What's up at Kallang that causes the bottleneck? You mean driving home from east towards Jurong/Tuas? It was especially bad this evening, donno why... jam until kallang, followed by jam until cte exit, then the usual jam until bke. Most of the bottlenecks on the PIE are due to drivers entering the expressway and drivers filtering to go off the expressway not giving way to each other. Getting worse now, with more selfish idiots on the road Then again, it's sometimes due to poor design and location of the expressway entrances and exits - some of which are really too close. Icekitten Clutched September 29, 2008 Share September 29, 2008 Aiya, because all the "E"s merge there. CTE from both directions and now KPE too. Cars wanting to filter out, others trying to filter in. Even staying on the right lane isn't totally safe because of buggers who have poor judgement or blatantly filter right. Prepare for sudden braking in such areas. CTE from AMK to PIE also like that ma. The jam always ends there. Coz of buggers filtering out late and others filtering right without prior judgement. Same case. ↡ Advertisement
