Fren, u claiming or u defending?

If claiming, u can call the SCT up for a re-schedule.

If you're defending, I'm assuming its on behalf of a company. Too bad, unlikely u're gonna get a deferment as the reasoning is that there should be others who can cover your job.

has anybody had experience in SCT?

 

currently facing situation to seek compensation from travel agency as they cock up flight schedule causing inconvenience. Already tried talking to them but their compensation not up to satisfactory.

 

CASE definitely no use cos its mediation. if mediation is useful, we should be able to settle it already. am thinking of SCT but read that its consultation / mediation.. was wondering if its more useful than CASE's mediation.

 

other than CASE and SCT, what other ways to seek the ideal compensation?

For SCT, the "consultation" is a meeting with the registrar (judge) to have both parties lay out the case and see if a settlement can be reached. If cannot, then proceed to trial lor.

Causing inconvenience (eg uncomfortable layover in airport) or proven loss (eg - additional night accommodation)

 

Also - did you "approve" the schedule before booking or did they book and you paid without knowing what you were paying for?

 

My "hair from arse" guess is that you will be lucky to get compensation from "inconvenience" - particularly if you in anyway "approved" the schedule before paying (i.e - in other words you never checked properly but just relied on agent)

causing inconvenience as in missed business meeting and had to repurchase last min ticket from own pocket to reach destination, arriving a few hours later. what happened was original flight was cancelled and agency rebooked on next flight. all was okay, received new itinerary etc. however, upon check in, airline said ticket was invalid and was refused boarding. agent was not helpful and insisted ticket was issued. after investigation from airline, its confirmed the agency did not 'validate' ticket and agency is claiming system error.

 

compensation was offered but not up to satisfactory.. was thinking if theres any other way..

if i am not wrong SCT only do claim that has black and white evident (invoices for products and services), other inconvenience cost may not be able to claim.

Yeah - I think the "missed business meeting" will be hard to claim -

But for the "new ticket" should be fully reimbursed

SCT says no contract signed, so no go ><

 

i was just wondering.. if lets say it goes into Mag court, can we proceed to issue Writ of Summon without lawyers? or must engage lawyer to initiate procedure already?

writ of summon can only issue by court after judgment, meaning you still need to fight them in court before obtaining one.

Don't know why but all these can be solve by.... Travel insurance.
