Longbownet Neutral Newbie September 22, 2008 Share September 22, 2008 Hi bros, need some advise here. What's the difference btwn scrapping and exporting my car in monetary terms? I know i can get the figures for PARF and COE rebates from OneMotoring website. But the car body value is not included right? How can I get that figure? Thanks in advance!! ↡ Advertisement
Tomazsky Clutched September 22, 2008 Share September 22, 2008 I believe the vehicle body value will be quote by the car dealer or scrap yard dealer when upon discuss the terms... Please correct me if it is wrong.

Smartmax85 Clutched September 22, 2008 Share September 22, 2008 no problem share with u. if rebate is high then vehicle most prob will be exported low then sold in local market. so price of car varies =) cannot fully depend on rebate. have to get quotes from dealer
Spinworkx Clutched September 22, 2008 Share September 22, 2008 It all depends on the conditin of your car and the make model of it... For me, i recently scrapped my 3yr old Getz because the PARF plus COE i got back 19.5k, if i export i get 21k, difference of 1.5k... BUT, to export, i have to revert back everything to stock and in good condition...by the time i dekit and revert back, the amount of money i have to spend doesn't justify the $ and time spent on doing so, so in the end i decided to scrap the car... Ladykillerz 4th Gear August 3, 2009 Share August 3, 2009 Hi Ah-Ho, $26,165.00 is the paper value. If you sell it to 2nd hand car dealer or trade-in your car, you might be able to fetch somemore money from your car body..

Chickensoup 1st Gear August 3, 2009 Share August 3, 2009 $26165 is the rebate amount from LTA. Car Body for export can be worth up to $3K. Scrap is another thing. If scrapping the car, means you can remove hifi, door panels and rims/tyres, etc....surely the dealer will not allow because he is going to sell whole car to someone locally or overseas.

For scrap yard they should offer you $500 to $800 and they can be found at Sungei Kadut. They strip out all parts for resale Take a drive in there and stop to check the prices. Those that offer $50 are National iron and steel mill, they only melt your car for iron.
