Any bros here bought the Garmin from Caltex and know the specs?

buy from eastgear better. they offer free updates of their maps. the downside is must go to their office at horne rd to update.

How exactly is the GPS system installed? Any irrevesable changes made to the car?

agree, get from shops like eastgear better, at least any problem can go back to them. if get from caltex go to who?

depends on the warranty. need ask caltex who is the distributor for these sets.

just stick the mounting on the windscreen and power is from cigarette socket. presto! u r ready to go. u can just unclick the mounting if u want to "reverse" the installation.

Hmm, sounds simple enough but won't there be an unsightly wire running from the socket to the GPS? and will the GPS system block my view of the road?

depends on how good u can diy, i hide mine on the roof carpet, through the a pillar and to my cigar adapter above the pedal area, no wire can be seen

Currently, you can get any Garmin Nuvi set with TTS in Singapore from PW and other GPS dealers unless you go for Nuvi 700 series.

 

I ask my friend to buy from USA and they do still have Nuvi 350 with TTS, it only cost me around $360.

very good price i heard 370 has europe and USA, canada maps built-in, plus TTS and Bluetooth. But price is higher of course.
