Never liked the Sunny cuz I think it's a sloopy japanese job! Blurh!!! The fuel consumption is extremely bad and the acceleration really cannot make it for a 1.6 lit. Interior is just bland!

sunny price is still expensive compared to china cars. i doubt its an alternative that china car buyers will consider.

 

Actually, in terms of looks, most china cars look better than the Sunny. The Sunny's look is quite dated.

 

at least they r more reliable, no problem clearing slopes for most carpark and climb mount faber at least

Really depends on what you are looking for. My current ride is a Sunny 1.6 manual which is an OPC. When I am looking for my car, FC is not a major consideration since it is a OPC car usage is low.

What I like about the car is,

1) Relative affordable for a Japan made car, especially for 1st time buy where price is a major consideration. If you have deep pocket, it most likely you will not consider the sunny.

2)Feel stable at high speed i think due to its weight.

3)Was given 3 years free maintenance including materials and labour. For the 1st 3 year I did not spend a single cent on servicing. Even my faulty reverse sensor was repaired FOC during 1 of my servicing.

3)Interior material is relatively good. not too sloppy.

 

Now 3+ years later, I am considering to change to a normal plate car and most likely will change my sunny because my requirement has change.

 

1) Need a car with good FC.

2) A car with good leg rooom at the passenger side.(Sunny is lacking in this area)

3) Big booth space car (Too many baby stuff to carry)

So really there is no really a bad car but only a unsuitable car.

test-drove 2 sunny before and a A168.

 

the A168 totally cannot make one, the engine is so loud.

Make so much noises but cant move at all.

 

the seat is pretty uncomfortable.

even my first car many many years ago, a Toyota Corona have NICER and better furbished interior.

 

now before anyone bash me, take a ride in a age-old corona and an A168. then come tell me what you think.

2. what kind of FC sunny produce that you consider bad ? what FC for a 1.6L is consider reasonable to you?

3. why do you say the acceleration "CMI" for a 1.6L, and whats the

acceptable "acceleration for a 1.6L? any makes or model you

comparing please state =)

4. and how "bland" is the interior? any comparision to a 1.6L which is not bland pls state =)?

 

would like to understand why the above you state is not good to you =)

well i think its an ok car.

 

but i would stay away from the automatic. had rented one before and the FC compared to the current car JDM Accord at that time we had was poor.

 

as a A-B car i would say its a value for money buy. i wouldn't say the pick up is amazing but its not that apparent if you rev it to 3k. just take a look at your mirrors.

When it came out some 8 years ago, it's really not a bad car. decent power decent looks and decently equipment. FC is so-so though.

 

But over the years, it really showed it's age when the competitors release better cars that have better engines, better equipment, better FC, better looks.

It's a very old cow that should be put to rest long time ago.

WTF??? Sunny already 2 generations behind.

dun become like proton, when the Proton Wira first release it's one of the best car with new 16valve engine and consider quite nice and value of it's price, then 20years later still selling, now downgrade to "old ugly cheap crap" status.

 

Nissan should let the Sunny retire to be remembered of it's glorious day..else ppl only remember it as a ahpek old car with bad FC...simply cos they compared with newer cars of it's time...

i own one before. i still think it's a very good car, indeed value for money

 

never gave me any problem and built quality is reasonable. i've driven ES civic and N16 sunny at high speed at NSH and i must say that the N16 felt more stable compared to the ES

 

power wise may not be as good and FC may be slightly high but i don't give a damn coz i am pumping jb petrol

ES Civic's stock suspension sucks big time man, just take it above 140+km/h and the rear will bounce if you ever follow a behind a ES Civic, you can see that the rear suspension will bounce more that the front when ever they go thru' a hump. I replaced them with Koni Yellow + Eibach ProKit and it feels much better at 170+ on N/S HW but when it comes to 180+km/h, the steering feedback isn't that good as compare to Conti make

after reading through comment from nissan sunny owner , most of them complaint and comment that nissan sunny is a lousy car,most wont even recommand their friend to buy ...... is nissan sunny really that lousy?

To be really honest, juging from the pick-up and when I race with them. They are really underperforming. It may be the design of the engine but what do you expect the engineers to put in with a name called "SUNNY" ?

it's designed to be a slow family type car.

Please hor, I am hou lian hor. I may have beaten some Civics, Vios, Swift, Sunny, Lancer, Impreza, Getz but it's not some great feat. And do note that I have upgraded my ride with supercharger and I must say it's not very fair of me to take them on. Although I have a close shaved with a 2L Civic.
