Think auto tranny is bad for FC. My MT is really saving alot on fuel. Below is my tabulation. I kept record as FC is one of the factors to indicate the car performance.

I always pump at 1/4 tank. If to run till fuel light comes out, easily i can clock > 500km.

Date - Qty - KM - KM/L

08-Jun-08 - 33.85 - 499.7 - 14.76

16-Jun-08 - 29.76 - 414.3 - 13.92

23-Jun-08 - 29.97 - 415.2 - 13.85

03-Jul-08 - 31.31 - 455.7 - 14.55

13-Jul-08 - 31.62 - 454.5 - 14.37

21-Jul-08 - 30.5 - 427 - 14.00

29-Jul-08 - 29.47 - 447.1 - 15.17

06-Aug-08 - 30.66 - 452.6 - 14.76

14-Aug-08 - 32.82 - 461.5 - 14.06

22-Aug-08 - 33.39 - 470.5 - 14.09

31-Aug-08 - 30.06 - 428.3 - 14.25

well i personally find nissan sunny (MT) is a very good car

fuel consumption about 11-12km/L

legspace a bit small but reasonable (i'm 1.78cm tall)

Have owned this car for 3 years..

at dat time..can only afford this car & my auntie recommended the car,i believed her coz her previous cars, she nvr jaga, always spoil, this sunny nvr failed her... [:p] ,even then..i bought it at nearly 60k,nw tink can buy much better models [:|]

Wanna change but dunno when is a good time to change, esp with the uncertain economic conditions.

Pros - strong aircon, big boot, reliable engine, common car so no lack of parts.

Cons - poor FC(im gettin like 10km+/ltr) rear interior space sucks big time, poor roof insulation, gear change jerky when engine cold.

Bro your FC is good sai

No matter how hard I try to control my right foot the best FC I got is 12.7 km/l (drive until lights up, total 460 km top up 36l).

If I can get your FC i don't need to change car liao. ha ha [laugh]

Agreed. Fuel consumption also depend on driving habits. Previously own a manual N16. Fuel consumption quite good. can achieve 13km/L. Reliable and safety though its a bit heavy [;)]

But I have to admit that I do floored the accelarator occasionally (e.g to overtake drivers that do not give way even my signals is on for the entire trip [:|] ). Maybe that is the reason.

my 2 cents...

pros

1) handles well

2) Jap made (i drove a thai car for a couple of years before and there is a difference)

3) comfortable ride, especially when cruising.

4) reliable and parts are relatively cheap.

cons

1) auto drinks a little more (mine's getting about 12km/L so not too bad)

2) gear change is jerky when the tranny is still cold. After travel ~3km is ok

3) roof is "hollow" and can be very noisy under heavy rain. Just do sound insulation will do.

4) styling a bit dated. but ok for old man like me.

overall, i find it a decent ride and dont mind keeping it for a few more years in this uncertain economy outlook.
