Help needed on debit card

I bought something online and accidently bought extra stuff with my debit card , so i called up the company and they cancelled my extra order, however the billing is still reflected in my debit card bill, is there anything i can do to make sure i dun get that $$ deducted off from my account, u guys know how a debit card work unlike credit card work it deduct when there is money instead of the bill coming at the end of the month. and worst case i now trying to call DBS nbcb wait 10 mins , no one answer the phone [thumbsdown][furious][furious]

Make sure the compnay you call do a reversal and indicate it on the latest revised invoice... Next call DBS (boh pian have to wait, if not call at night) and let them know about it... Scan and email them the invoice as proof... Do have patience as these reversal takes some time to process... They probably will deduct your account first and credit it again after the reversal is done...

 

Credit card reversals are faster... Not too sure about Debit cards though...

Once you have made the purchase with your debit card, they will automatically deduct the amt and put in on hold.

It will not be release to the merchant yet.

 

This amt will normally be held for min 4 days to 10 days before transaction is verified by merchant and banks.

When no verification is made, it will automatically be refunded back to your account.

 

If you are still worried, can get the merchant, to write in an offical letter to the bank, to void the transaction.

But normally the merchant wont do such thing as its too troublesome. They will wait for the 10days up.
