Kaka23 3rd Gear September 17, 2008 Share September 17, 2008 Just watch a video clip on S2000 vs RX7. Both seem to be competing in the same league. With that I've seen several S2000s but I dont remember, or even recognize, a RX7 before. Why is the RX7 so rare? Which is better anyway? Maybe I'm wrong but is the RX7 faster at pick up and the S2000 is better at corners? Which will you pick anyway? ↡ Advertisement
Eyke Supercharged September 17, 2008 Share September 17, 2008 RX-7 ended production long ago, while S2000 still selling. read: http://www.autozine.org/Graveyard/html/Mazda/RX7.html

Riceracer Clutched September 19, 2008 Share September 19, 2008 RX-7 was probably in the league of fairlady and slightly more than a EVO back then. It was selling at 3.8m yen and same as S2000. GTR was about 6.0m yen and NSX was 11.0m yen. RX-7 was not in the same league too. Rx-7 was selling around 220k and NSX was around 450k+ here in 1993. The RX7 you saw on video must have been the Efini. Even the Efini is more than 15 yrs old. therefore the rarity This is a car with looks way ahead of its times Again confirming my opinion that Mazda is produces the nicest designs amongst the Japs. The RX7 was my first car.

Throttle2 Supersonic March 8, 2011 Share March 8, 2011 then, in the early 2000s, I was drawn to getting the Efini but couldnt find a clean enough sample so I bought a BMW 318is coupe instead.
Lychee_boi Neutral Newbie May 15, 2011 Share May 15, 2011 Just curious guys, is the Nissan S15 Silvia or Mazda RX7 FD better for Drifting? I read some reviews saying that the RX7 FD is rather difficult to drift for a beginner as compared to the S15. But other reviews say that the FD is great for drifting as it have near-perfect weight distribution. Which is correct? Is the S15 or FD better for drifting purposes? I believe the s15 because everyone's drifting in the silvia range here in Aus. S13 and 180 are the most popular because they're cheap and spare parts are easily available. But I reckon the FD is by far the sexiest looking car in that era. I would have gotten that for my first car if not for the fuel consumption and reliability issues. Also, back on topic. Maybe mention which series of RX7 as they do vary a lot. Also, they're still in production until 2002 (as as the R34 GTRs). They have limited edition series (Spirit R) like the Skyline GTRs (N1, NURs etc) too but I wouldnt be surprise non of these limited editions are in Singapore. To put that into perspective, a mint condition Spirit R goes for around 50k (give or take), thats around the price of a brand new Golf GTI here and a R34 GTR NUR is around 85k. Google wiki and you'll find all the series easily. ↡ Advertisement
