Best amp+speaker combo for classical music

Hi,

 

Need some advice for amp+speaker combo for wide sound-staging, above average

clarity and sweet mid-tones for vocals.

 

Need Mary Black to sound like Mary Black and not Barry White.

 

Damage hopefully below $1K.

It doesn't only depend on your speakers and amps, a lot depends on the HU to make Mary Black sound like herself. Don't expect anything much with $1k for speakers and amp, and also need to set aside $200 for labour, cables, fuses, etc.

Have decided on Alpine 9887.

 

$1K btw is for 2nd-hand. labour fees extra of course.

actually the price diff fr a 2nd hand alpine with a new one isn't far off.

Go for the head unit first.

As for the speakers and amps, it wil depend on the positioning and the type of car u r driving.

Its hard to give advice base on words of mouth.

In the end, it would depend on your own taste.

Not to forget, if you going 2 or 3 way active, better find a good tuner.

 

Best is go listen to some of the setups during ice meetups.
