Rjmsfire Neutral Newbie September 14, 2008 Share September 14, 2008 (edited) Sebastien Vettel of Scuderia Toro Rosso sensationally wins the 2008 Italian Grand Prix! Not only is Vettel the youngest F1 winner in history at 21 years, he is also the youngest driver to earn pole position, also at the Italian Grand Prix. A relative unknown, except to keen followers of motorsports, Vettel's recent strong performances will surely catapult him to heavy attention at the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix. Vettel's Toro Rosso team was born out of the long running, perennial backmarker Minardi team which never raced to higher than 4th placing. Red Bull took over Minardi in 2006 and the renamed Scuderia Toro Rosso has clearly benefitted from having its cars developed by the senior Red Bull team. Without taking anything away from Vettel and the team's skills and efforts, the team in Minardi's guise would have been very unlikely to get today's results without getting its car from Red Bull. Nevertheless, I have always been fond of Minardi's fighting spirit during its long lonely years at the back of the field and I feel very pleased for Toro Rosso and Vettel to get today's maiden victory. I can imagine how spirited the celebrations will be at the Red Bull Energy Station. Edited September 14, 2008 by Rjmsfire
Haurus85 Neutral Newbie September 14, 2008 Share September 14, 2008 Hami drove like a madman..and was driving too dangerously..i'm sure he's going to be a rather unloved figure among the other drivers from now on. He bumped into Webber and Alonso..and made so many dangerous dives inside..come on..there's racing and there's crazy, irresponsible driving.

Alfpoon Clutched September 14, 2008 Author Share September 14, 2008 i saw the incident with webber...hami was really unsporting...i believe if webber's car was hit, hami would have gotten a penalty. webber did well to steer clear and ran off the track but i believe he was pissed! (from his hand gestures)

Kangz 3rd Gear September 14, 2008 Share September 14, 2008 I see more and more of M. Schumacher in Hamilton (the unsporting part)... Honestly he's lucky to get away with his antics today.
Alfpoon Clutched September 14, 2008 Author Share September 14, 2008 well...shumi was seasoned and ruthless...hami is young and rash...drivers normally have an unspoken respect for each other but hami openly insulted another driver as "no balls". anyway..i'm sure there are hami fans here as well... so better not spin OT and just celebrate vettel's record win! Kangz 3rd Gear September 14, 2008 Share September 14, 2008 Haha Hami's public image kinda reminds me of Eddie Irvine as well. Ahh the good old 90s. Anyway, yup Vettel is spectacular. What happened to Heikki? Half asleep throughout the whole race I think...
Alfpoon Clutched September 14, 2008 Author Share September 14, 2008 hekki just conceded that they can't keep up with ferrari B team! haha. i am dissapointed with ferrari. they should have been a lot more adventurous with Kimi's pit stop but they played it safe... Now all he needs is a morfe competitive car; hmmm a Ferrari German followed by Italian anthem, yes almost Schumi day.
