Hi,

some times i like to drive my car without any music on, to enjoy some 'serenity' and allowing myself to indulge in some deep contemplation while driving. but...

Recently i can hear rattling noise coming from unknown sources in the front left area of the dashboard. It is getting really irritating. I know it is extremely hard to pinpoint the fault, but does anyone has any solution at all?

Thanks for any advise.

eh u 4th gear still ask this kinda qn [:p]

got try, remove all the loose items and every damn thing from glove box? if not, go and try first. if have...

check ur air filter/airbox etc. could be rattling and it will give u a sound which sounds like it's from dashboard, but actually coming from engine bay.

at least tt's what i diagnosed in my el cheapo anyhow modify korean ride [laugh]

I also have this rattling sound in my car.

Its more like resonance from some loose panels/cables at 1700-1800rpm.

I know how you feel. Its really a hassle to take out everything from the glove compartments, remove the HU and check the stereo cables, etc.

If one has a full day of free time, maybe the step by step testing and elimating method is feasible.

But I know most don't have the time to trouble shoot the sound.

What to do.....get a more luxury car like Lexus or BMW will maybe solve the problem.

quality is indeed suspect but reliability is there.[nod]

just saw one tomyam altis, interior leather panel (door side) coming out [rolleyes]

mine is hard plastic everywhere, more chance for rattling but at least everything stays in place [sweatdrop]

Solved my rattling problem. How I did it:

Spray lubricant into the rubber seal between my windscreen and the roof. Who could have guessed that??
