Altar on car dash

I am sure some have seen 'altar' being set up on car's dashboard.

 

May I ask if it's really an alter or a 'decoration'/charm?

Received this from a friend.

 

 

Apparently, was told by my friend that the owner of this car even have a joss stick holder attached to his front reg no plate. He saw this on his way to a wedding dinner.

I think anything is permissible as long as it doesnt block the airbag opening for safety reasons. Otherwise, the object would become a sharp piercing weapon when the airbag inflates.
